XL and BlackBerry team up to launch NOVI which allows three numbers on one SIM

New service 'NOVI' to give XL customers up to three mobile numbers on one SIM

Jakarta, Indonesia – XL Axiata (XL), Indonesia's leading cellular digital services provider and BlackBerry Limited (NASDAQ: BBRY; TSX: BB), a global leader in secure mobile communications, today launched NOVI, a service that will enable XL customers to use multiple mobile numbers on a single device. As a leading cross-platform mobility solutions provider, BlackBerry enables partners such as XL to develop and deliver the most innovative and secure mobile services to customers.

Launched at the Indonesia Cellular Show in Jakarta today, NOVI is the first mobile service of its kind available in Indonesia and the Asia Pacific region, offering XL customers the ability to privately and securely maintain up to three mobile numbers on one device. For example, as well as using a primary number for family and friends, customers can use a second number for important business contacts and a third for selling goods online or booking taxis. Regardless of what mobile platform, using a feature phone or smartphone, or whether customers are on pre-paid or post-paid packages, the fully integrated GSM solution allows customers to:

• Enjoy multiple mobile numbers on one device, eliminating the need for multiple SIMs and devices
• Seamlessly switch between primary and virtual numbers – with a full native experience for voice and text
• Choose your own mobile phone number from a range of standard and premium options

The advantage of NOVI is that customers only need to have one registered (prepaid or post-paid) physical SIM Card as the primary mobile number. All virtual numbers operate by using the existing packages or air time balance associated with the primary number. This way, it is easy for the customers to keep track of their mobile spend and use their virtual numbers for every need.

XL will offer three types of mobile phone numbers for the NOVI service with a monthly subscription:

• Default (a basic number that is randomly provided by XL) for IDR 6,000/month
• Standard (a range of bespoke numbers for customers to choose from) for IDR 15,000/ month
• Premium (one-of-a-kind customized numbers customers can choose from) for IDR 30,000 / month
