Being part of a military family, I travel a lot. This means staying in a hotel room. For most people, this would usually be fun. For me, it means very little sleep. The problem is I'm a VERY light sleeper and hotels are not known for being the quietest places. I always have a fan going in the room I'm sleeping in and it's highly unlikely for hotels to have any in their rooms. Last night while trying to fall asleep in my hotel room, I found my solution in the selection of White Noise Apps from TMSOFT.
The white noise apps provide ambient sounds of the environment to help you relax or fall asleep. The easy to use interface quickly lets you select the sound you want, adjust the volume, set a shutoff time (15 mins to 8 hrs) and then get a good night's sleep.
White Noise includes the following sounds:
- Air Conditioner
- Beach Shore
- Clock Ticking
- Crickets Chirping
- Oscillating Fan
- Rainfall
- Running Stream
- White Noise
White Noise Storm includes the following sounds:
- Car Rain
- Light Rain
- Heavy Rain
- Rainstorm
- Running Water
- Thunderstorm
- Water Dripping
- Wind
- Cat Purring
- Wind Chimes
- Citry Streets
- Clothes Dryer
- Dishwasher
- Hair Dryer
- Shower
- Vacuum Cleaner
All 3 apps have the following features:
- Timer to shutdown the application and the last minute of timer fades the volume.
- Phone call and other interruptions are correctly handled to restart sound.
- Keyboard short cuts: N next sound, P previous sound, T Timer toggle, M More time (5 minutes), L Less time (5 minutes), S or $ Speaker toggle.
- All settings are saved between application launches including volume, timer, and selected sound.
There is also a White Noise Lite app (only has the white noise sound) available for free that allows you to test the app on your device before purchasing versions one of the full. Currently, the apps are on sale for $1.99. While some would say that is a bit pricey for this kind of app, when you've spent a night sleeping in the hotel bath tub trying to block the sound of someone snoring, no price is too high.

Google will pay you a measly $1.50 a week to track EVERYTHING on your phone
Google already tracks a lot of your data, whether you want them to or not. But for a mere pittance they'll track even more of it! Why? All so they can better sell ads to put in front of your face. Cooooooool.
