When it comes to customizing one's BlackBerry, MMMOOO is no stranger to the blogs, whether it be designing themes for BBOS or coding applications for BlackBerry 10. A while back we showed you Wallpaper Sky, a free application that allowed users to download user-generated and Flikr content as their backgrounds. It boasted a robust selection and a slick interface for quickly searching for and locating the ones you wanted.

Since the initial release, the free version became ad-supported as well as offering bug fixes and enhancements. Recently, however, new features and capabilities were included in the Pro version, that eliminated the ads and any watermarks that may have been there in prior incarnations.

This Built for BlackBerry premium version maintains the ease and flexibility of the original as well as throwing in a few more into the mix. The most important of these, at least to me, is the brand new theme store. What this entails is is that not only can you download and set one of their images as your background, but you can also add a theme bar to the image as well. This will not only change the top and bottom bar of the homescreen but gives your device a completely new look.

Applying themes is quite simple and you can do so automatically with the newly incorporated Wall Show setting, aka wallpaper changer, using the dropdown or when setting a background. Simply tap on an image, tap on the overflow menu, and select Theme. Here you can swipe through the gallery and select the combination of your choice. Additional theme bars can be purchased through the app though some are free to download. The free version supports the wallpaper changer as well, however, both require it remain open as an active frame as it is not headless.

A Christmas and New Year's section was added recently and is still available to access. If you swipe to the right from the main screen you can see the Christmas tab is already there with links to various wallpapers if you still want to keep the holiday spirit going into the new year.

While the free version offers these new features as in-app purchases it all comes in the premium one for $2.99 (not including the extra theme bars). Users may even request their own personalized theme bar as part of their new Private Engraving service. Instructions are included in the application.

Wallpaper Sky comes with a decent variety of images for discovering new and high quality wallpapers. You can try it out first and see what it has to offer and make the decision to go pro.
