Facebook Reactions

As promised a few weeks ago, Facebook is now adding more "reactions" other than just "Like" for people to use for commenting on news posts. The five additional reactions are "Love", "Haha", "Wow", "Sad" and "Angry".

The new options can be accessed by holding down the "Like" button on mobile apps or hovering over the button for web-based users. They can then select and tap on their choice of the five new reactions for the news post. Facebook says:

"We understand that this is a big change, and want to be thoughtful about rolling this out. For more than a year we have been conducting global research including focus groups and surveys to determine what types of reactions people would want to use most. We also looked at how people are already commenting on posts and the top stickers and emoticons as signals for the types of reactions people are already using to determine which reactions to offer."

One other reaction that was tested in some markets,"Yay", was not understood by some users and will not be among the new additions.
