BlackBerry Torch 2

Another round of BlackBerry Torch 2 photos turns up

Body:
BlackBerry Torch 2

Although it was only just the other day we saw some new images of the BlackBerry Torch 2 turn up, it has now once again appeared in some new images. This time around we get some better lighting to go ahead and shine on the device to help show it off. We also get a look at the OS running on the device which is now showing as BlackBerry 7 as opposed to the previous leaks which showed off BlackBerry 6.1.

New images to look at but sadly, it's still rocking that battery door we also saw from previous leaks. I for one, hope they decide to swap that out before an actual release. Not really fond of all that shine that is going on there, anyone else? Few more images can be found after the break, you can also hit up the source link for their full gallery.

BlackBerry Torch 2 poses for the camera yet again

BlackBerry Torch 2

We haven't seen much of the upcoming BlackBerry Torch 2 in the last few weeks, but the guys at TechnoBuffalo tossed up a few images in case you're in withdrawal. Nothing really new here from these shots, but we do get to see more of my least favorite battery door to date (I think it looks Bedazzled!). Also we can tell from the icons that this guy is running OS 7 as expected. A quick recap of the BlackBerry Torch 2 specs:

BlackBerry Torch 2 Key Specs:

  • Processor: 1.2 GHz processor
  • Radio: Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE ; Tri-band HSPA 14.4Mbps
  • Display: 3.2" VGA - 480 x 640 capacitive touchscreen display
  • Memory: 8GB storage + 768MB RAM + up to 32GB MicroSD
  • Connectivity: WiFi + Bluetooth + NFC
  • Camera: 5 MP
  • Battery: 1300MAh battery
  • Dimension: 14.6mm thick
  • Sensors: magnetometer

If all goes according to plan, the Torch 2 should be launching sometime after the Bold 9900/9930 (which we still have no official launch date for). It may be the next in line or mixed in with one of the other rumored 2011 devices we should see before the end of the year. One more image after the break.

BlackBerry Torch 2

On top of the bevy of spec sheets leaked today, the BlackBerry Torch 2 has been getting lots of camera time as well. We'd really like to say we're excited for this device as a whole but really, the other devices such as the BlackBerry Bold Touch and BlackBerry Touch excite us a tad bit more -- again, they're new designs and new hardware so they certainly have the lead advantage. No matter, personal preferences aside, check out these newer images of the BlackBerry Torch 2. A couple more can be found after the break.

BlackBerry Torch 2 spec sheet leaked

While the other two specs sheets leaked today were a little more important than this one as they came from new designs rather then a revamped one that doesn't mean they don't contain some nice info as well. We've seen plenty of the Torch 2 already to get a feel for it but now, we also know the codename associated to it. Jennings it is, with the numerical association as mentiond being 9810. Read on for the full specs plus, some new pictures are coming up as well shortly.

BlackBerry Torch 2 hands-on photos

BlackBerry Torch 2

Adding to the hands-on photos of the upcoming BlackBerry Bold Touch and the BlackBerry Touch (monaco) we've seen, we now have some new photos of the BlackBerry Torch 2 to add to the mix. The design is nearly identical to that of the BlackBerry Torch and again, you could say that this is really what the original Torch should have been. It has nearly twice the CPU power of it's older sibling and is running OS 6.1. For more on all the devices we should be seeing this year, check out our 2011 BlackBerry Smartphone Roadmap.

BlackBerry Torch 2 Key Specs:

  • Processor: 1.2 GHz processor
  • Radio: Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE ; Tri-band HSPA 14.4Mbps
  • Display: 3.2" VGA - 480 x 640 capacitive touchscreen display
  • Memory: 8GB storage + 768MB RAM + up to 32GB MicroSD
  • Connectivity: WiFi + Bluetooth + NFC
  • Camera: 5 MP
  • Battery: 1300MAh battery
  • Dimension: 14.6mm thick
  • Sensors: magnetometer

We can hopefully put this on the growing list of devices that should be announced at BlackBerry World in May, so only a few more weeks and we'll know for sure. One more image after the break.

CrackBerry Podcast 063: BlackBerry Roadmap 2011 - PlayBook and Phones Galore!

CrackBerry Podcast

The last couple of weeks have been full of leaks regarding the 2011 BlackBerry Smartphone roadmap, so we had a LOT to talk about on this CrackBerry Podcast. But before we get to the phones, we first spend a bunch of time talking BlackBerry PlayBook, going through many of the frequently asked questions that have been popping up in the forums.

Research In Motions 2011 device line up has spilled out onto the web and while we got glimpses of it previously, the full on images have now been posted. Whether you're looking to be picking up a brand new Bold (Dakota), a new Curve (Apollo) or even looking to put yourself in a newer, faster BlackBerry Torch 2 it should be a good year for RIM all around. What about the Storm 3? Well we're still not sure RIM will even be keeping the Storm brand at this point but that device is looking pretty awesome and it's nice to actually have something more then just one individual picture to refer to when speaking about it. Personally, I like the code names Monaco and Monza better for it.

RIM hasn't strayed far from their current line up in the way of looks; they certainly have extended in the specs department providing if what we have seen thus far makes it to market. As we know, RIM has taken a lot of heat in the past for having their device specifications lower than those of others but this should level the playing field a little bit when people are looking at specs and nothing more. It should be an interesting year what with the PlayBook launching and now these new devices. Hit the break for some more images of the Dakota, Apollo and Torch 2.
