I really loved BlackBerry Blend and moving to Android-based BlackBerry smartphones, it being missing has always felt like a bit of void that no mishmash of apps can fill. For those who might not know, BlackBerry Blend was a desktop app that worked in conjunction with BlackBerry 10 smartphones to bring all your BBM messages, emails and text messages from your BlackBerry to your computer or tablet
It was awesome to be able to take action on those apps that were integrated directly from your desktop or tablet. It just needed a little bit more love and perhaps, some further third-party app support, to make it really great but sadly, BlackBerry decided to EOL it and not bring it to Android and I don't really understand why. However, I'm not the only one missing it.
Personally, at this point, I'm not really sure if BlackBerry will ever go back and re-visit Blend in an effort to bring it to Android. It's not likely but it does seem a bit of a shame that it just got sent off into the sunset before even reaching its full potential. If anything, the transition to Android for BlackBerry could have helped further progress BlackBerry Blend into a really killer BlackBerry feature, which would help with differentiation in the Android world.
For those of you out there who had the pleasure of using Blend, would you like to see it brought to Android-based BlackBerry smartphones or is it one of those things that's better left in the past? Let me know in the comments or hop into Bitek's discussion in the forums.
