Just in time for baseball season, a new baseball scoring app hits the field for BlackBerry, Android, and iPhone. Score More Baseball provides simple scoring for amateurs and youth teams using the Moneyball method.
Score More Baseball allows anyone to use a phone or tablet to accurately score baseball games, using the Moneyball approach to help improve performance. This method enhances all aspects of play. including longer rallies, stranding fewer runners, and score more runs.
Score More Baseball allows your amateur, recreational, or youth baseball team to apply the same optimizations as the professionals. After just three games, there's enough data for the app to start optimizing your lineup. With the same players and same number of hits, Score More Baseball creates the batting order that helps your team enjoy longer rallies, strand fewer runners, and ultimately, score more runs.
Score More Baseball is free to try with a few available pricing options. Teams can get full use of the app for $5 per tournament, $15 monthly, or $50 per year. For more info, check out scoremorebaseball.com or hit up the download link below.

BlackBerry Execs Turned Startup Advisors Launch Score More Baseball
Mike Kirkup and Brian Zubert, former leaders in BlackBerry's Developer Relations, have joined forces to put "Moneyball" into the pockets of coaches and players with Score More Baseball
Waterloo, ON – March 10, 2015 – Today, the mobile app Score More Baseball launches for Android, BlackBerry, and iOS. Score More Baseball simplifies the scoring of baseball games and brings the power of "Moneyball" to amateur, rec, and youth baseball teams, using the same performance-based approach now used by over a dozen Major League Baseball teams.
Score More Baseball makes baseball scorekeeping so fast and easy that any coach, teammate, or parent can quickly and accurately score the game on their phone or tablet, which then applies the "Moneyball" approach to the team's batting order, helping the team enjoy longer rallies, strand fewer runners, and ultimately, score more runs. All stats are stored in the cloud, allowing the coach and the players to track both their team and individual progress.
The idea for the app was conceived not long after Brian Zubert was laid off from his position at BlackBerry. In his personal time, he'd been doing stat tracking in Microsoft Excel using the "Moneyball" approach with his men's slo-pitch team. "After each game, I used to take the pen and paper scoresheets, try to make sense of what our scorekeeper wrote down, and manually enter all that data into Excel. It took a lot of time, but it was worth it. We went from bottom third of the league in runs scored to top third, in just one season."
Mike Kirkup, who leads the Velocity entrepreneurship program at the University of Waterloo, was actually the person who hired Brian at BlackBerry many years ago and they've remained in close contact ever since. When Brian reached out to Mike in April of last year and pitched him on the idea of Score More Baseball, Mike was hesitant. After Mike talked to every ball player he knew, their enthusiasm for the idea made a believer out of him. In a BBM conversation the day before Mike took off for a Caribbean vacation, Brian asked Mike if he was interested in teaming up on Score More Baseball. "I told him I'd think about it. Turns out, I couldn't stop thinking about it. I came back from that trip with pages full of notes and even some of the first screen designs." Six months later, Score More was in beta with five teams playing indoor baseball.
Today, Score More Baseball marks its launch in Google Play, BlackBerry World, and iOS App Store. Details available at www.scoremorebaseball.com.

Hockey fans - NHL GameCenter now available for Blackberry 10
What I know about Hockey I could write on the back of a postage stamp! But I do know a great app when I see one and NHL GameCenter falls right into that category. For some strange reason it seems that the new BlackBerry 10 application is not available for users in America. I'm slightly baffled why as I thought hockey was pretty big over there. Anyway, that may just be a small glitch...
CrackBerry Asks: What did you think of BlackBerry's Super Bowl commercial?
Watch the Super Bowl ad here! BlackBerry's oft-teasedBlackBerry Z10 ad for the Super Bowl just aired, and we're generally pretty happy with it. The ad was definitely more imaginative than Samsung's marginally funny, overbudgeted 2-minute spot, but what did you guys think? Did this need to be more punchy, like what we saw from these guys? Or was BlackBerry smart to be punching their...
What do you want to see in the BlackBerry Super Bowl commercial?
BlackBerry has been teasing the ad with image like this... but what is it? * Update from Kevin: Just got an early look at the BlackBerry Super Bowl commercial airing later today. Me likey!!!! Not your typical product demo type of commercial. It's totally fitting for Super Bowl. * I know y'all are probably getting into football mode - buying the beers, ordering the pizza,...
Hockey Night in Canada brings scores, news and more to BlackBerry 10
Yet another solid app I checked out at Toronto's BlackBerry 10 launch event was CBC's Hockey Night in Canada, featuring video highlights, live scores, upcoming schedule, standings, and lots more. We scoped this one out just a bit before the big announcement day, but it was good to see everything in action and getting a few hints on what's coming next - namely premium subscription...
