Brick Breaker has always been a classic game for BlackBerry smartphones. Retroid for BlackBerry 10 gives a new modern twist to the game and comes with both a free version as well as a paid pro one - costing £1.50/$1.99.
The game is available for all BlackBerry 10 devices and one thing that impressed me greatly was that the developer has included hardware keyboard controls for Q5/Q10 owners - a nice feature. The other option of course is just to use the touch screen where you can place a finger/thumb on the paddle and drag is left and right. It's all very smooth.
As you would imagine - the object of the game is to destroy all the bricks. Some will offer you special powers when you break them - such as changing the size of your paddle, or slowing down the ball. It's certainly not as easy as it looks though, as I demonstrate perfectly in the video!
With more levels to come in future updates I think this one is without doubt the next generation Brick Breaker. Nice work Mr Dev!
Features include:
- Different Episodes for you to choose
- 15 levels per Episode
- Every episode has unique look and gameplay
- Cheerful graphics and effects
- Groovy music
- Hardware keyboard support
With crisp, colorful graphics and some funky background music what's not to like? Give the free version a whirl and see what you think.

Brain Coach - Have you got the skills to beat it?
Even if your initial thoughts are that playing Brain Coach is not your thing, you may well be surprised. Race your way to top with Top Speed: Drag & Fast Racing
While there may be quite a few car racing games available in the storefront, there is always room for one more, at least in my opinion.
