If fast paced, racing style games are your thing then Ragged Edge for BlackBerry 10 should be your cup of tea. Set in space you must guide your vessel through a selection of tracks in the fastest time possible to unlock further levels.
You have two options when it comes to controlling your space craft - either tilt or touch. The tilt is far easier in my opinion. With the touch you have turn left and right tabs at the base of the display but you are hindered somewhat due to the two other on-screen controls. Touching the top half of the screen activates your booster and breaking is done by pressing the lower half. Doing both of these while using the left and right tabs is frankly a pain in the butt!
Graphics wise Ragged Edge is stunning. Accompanied with great sound effects the game is a real beauty. I must be honest though and say that the game was released some time ago but the first version was so laggy it was unbearable to play. Luckily the developers jumped on board and got things sorted.
Features of Ragged Edge include:
- Amazing 3D graphics
- 36 races on 15 tracks
- 3 Game modes: Solo, versus (up to 86 opponents!), boarding
- Smooth controls
- Fascinating story written by sci-fi book author Jacques Martel
The game will set you back £2.50/$3.99 which isn't cheap, but you do get what you pay for.
