I have not used Opera as my web browser since the early BlackBerry OS days where Opera Mini ruled, but today, they announced some enhancements to their latest Android update that has me taking a look. As part of the version 51 update, Opera has now included a free, no-log, built-in VPN.
- No-log - Our built-in VPN does not log web traffic. This means that the VPN servers do not log and retain any activity data, all to protect your privacy.
- Free - The VPN does not have any cost as it's built into our browser. This makes it very convenient to start using VPN straightaway as you don't need to pay any subscriptions for the service or download additional apps on your device.
- Easy to use - Enabling the built-in VPN takes only two simple steps. Tap on the settings of the browser and then enable VPN.
I'm not sure if I'll continue to use Opera as my primary browser, I'm currently using DuckDuckGo for that but if you're interested in the improved privacy and security the new VPN additions offer, it's certainly worth taking a look.
