Although we haven't heard a ton from OnwardMobility since they announced a new 5G BlackBerry with a keyboard would be arriving in 2021, it seems as though they have been working hard on growing their team according to a new announcement posted to their blog.
OnwardMobility is growing! Today, we're excited to announce significant new hires for our global sales team to meet the need for the growing global interest in our company. We're welcoming to the team industry veterans Géraud Boutibonnes as Vice President General Manager EMEA and Global Accounts (EU) and Matthew McFee as Vice President of Government Sales. With more than 60 years' combined experience, both Mr. Boutibonnes and Mr. McFee will contribute to growing OnwardMobility's global sales and will report to OnwardMobility's EVP of Sales Chuck Becher.
"We continue to see increased excitement about our company and pent up demand for our new robust devices, and the addition of Géraud and Matthew enables us to quickly ramp up our sales efforts throughout EMEA and with key government accounts," said Peter Franklin, CEO of OnwardMobility. "Both Géraud and Matthew bring extensive experience in increasing wireless device sales in key markets and will be important contributors to bringing to market OnwardMobility's global flagship device, a feature-rich, 5G Android smartphone that delivers on security and productivity."
Seeing some action on the hiring front is fantastic. In order to make it all work, you need great people on the front lines to help out but as an admittedly impatient BlackBerry fan, I just want to see some teases of new BlackBerry hardware.
