The reports yesterday were that it looked like Best Buy pulled the BlackBerry PlayBook from their online offerings with a lot of customers stating their orders were canceled. While nobody was quite sure of the exactly what was going on then, today Best Buy issued a statement explaining the situation:
Starting Sunday, November 20th, Best Buy offered $300 instant savings to the BlackBerry PlayBook, reducing the price to $299.99 and $199.99 for the 32 GB and 16 GB, respectively. Customers have responded very positively to this short-term promotion available until Dec. 3 and, as a result, we are currently sold out of our inventory. We will have additional units available in the near future, at which time customers will be able to purchase the devices online at www.bestbuy.com.
There you have it. Sold out. Not a bad problem for the BlackBerry PlayBook to have! Since the price slashing has hit, it's clear there has been a ton of interest in the PlayBook. It makese sense. With an affordable price and knowing that PlayBooks OS 2 will hit in early 2012, it's steal right now.
