On Thursday, July 23, 2015, BlackBerry will be hosting their annual BlackBerry Security Summit in New York. The event will be headed up by BlackBerry CEO and Executive Chairman, John Chen as well as key members of the senior leadership team including Chief Operating Officer Marty Beard, Vice President of Product Management Tim Choi, Corporate Strategy Vice President Jeff Holleran, Chief Technology Officer, Secusmart, Christoph Erdmann, and more. The event will cover the latest mobile security threats, their impact on enterprise and government customers, and how BlackBerry are staying ahead of them.
Also attending the event will be Chief Security Officer David Kleidermacher, who will be discussing how BlackBerry is taking their strengths in cross-platform Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) and secure computing to help 'smart hospitals' and other enterprises securely manage their Internet-of-Things-enabled medical devices. We'll be on hand in New York to take it all in but you at home can tune in as well as BlackBerry has announced they'll be streaming the event for all via this page starting at 9AM ET on July 23, 2015.
Although the event is being streamed, we'll still fire up a live blog for everyone to join in and chat about any announcements that may arise. At this point, it's hard to say whether or not any major news will be announced but last year, BlackBerry took the time at the BlackBerry Security Summit to announce plans to acquire Secusmart, which was a big acquisition for them. Keeping in mind it is a security summit, let us know if you think BlackBerry will announce anything this year.
