Making his media rounds after the BlackBerry earnings call, BlackBerry CEO John Chen sat down to talk with Bloomberg's Emily Chang about the Q1 Fiscal 2017 results, the full-fiscal year profit forecast, two new phones coming to market as well as the future of BlackBerry hardware production.

Although Chen avoided mentioning new devices on the earnings call, those waiting on new hardware will be interested to know that lower-priced device forthcoming will be an all-touch device. Something Chen noted previously but is worth noting again.

When asked about the hardware business Chen once again noted, BlackBerry has now moved into more so designing phones versus manufacturing them and as such, lowering their cost risks associated with hardware by creating new partnerships with original design manufacturers such as Wistron.
