Original Story: Facebook appears to be experiencing an outage, according to reports from a large number of users.

DownDetector, which tracks outage reports for a number of services, saw a spike in the number of reports in the past hour. Likewise, doing a quick check across Twitter shows a slew of complaints as well.

Downtime is generally a rarity for Facebook, but it looks like you'll have to get along without your social media fix from big blue for the time being. We'll update this post when everything looks to be in the clear.
