Instagram, the extremely popular mobile photosharing service that to date has only been available to iOS and Android devices, has begun rolling out web profiles for its users. Previously, you could view only individual photos via the web, but now you can view entire web profiles via your desktop or mobile browser.
Your web profile features a selection of your recently shared photographs just above your profile photo and bio, giving others a snapshot of the photos you share on Instagram. In addition, you can follow users, comment & like photos and edit your profile easily and directly from the web. It's a beautiful new way to share your Instagram photos!
As you can see in the snapshot above, my account has already been migrated and is available for web viewing at instagram.com/crackberrykevin. Instagram also said they are focused on photos produced with mobile devices, so there is no uploading feature available from the web. It's really about making shared Instagram photos more accessible.
With Facebook now owning Instagram, this is a big step to further opening up Instagram to more people. And even ignoring my strong statement that we will see Instagram come to BlackBerry 10, it logically makes sense that over time we'll see Instagram support more mobile device platforms, including BlackBerry 10 and I'd assume even Windows Phone 8. Facebook needs to get their share price up - that means doing everything to grow. Excluding users from using their services doesn't exactly align with the goal of maximizing shareholder value. Suffice to say, if Instagram doesn't come to BB you will see me voicing my opinions at a Facebook Shareholder's meeting. :)
As for that car I'll be buying a lucky CrackBerry reader if Instagram for whatever reason doesn't make its way onto BlackBerry 10, I think with my long hair and Movember moustache, on twitter the prevailing thought seems to be a CrackBerry'd up 80's Trans-Am may be fitting.

Everything you need to know about Threads, Instagram's Twitter clone
Threads is Meta's attempt at a "microblogging" platform, in the vein of Twitt— err, X. It's still pretty new, but has seen decent adoption thanks to being built on the accounts system of Instagram. It's also seen regular updates to add new features like a "following" feed and a full web interface.
My long and slow personal social media detox
I've slowly been withdrawing myself from most social media and I'm feeling happier and healthier for it.
Zuckerberg wasted billions on the Metaverse only to see users love Threads
After lighting $40 billion on fire to build a "Metaverse" virtual reality world that nobody asked for or wants, Meta built a simple clone of Twitter at the right time and people actually like it.
