We have covered Textender and FindMeHere on the blogs before, and today on Twitter I noticed a little bit of news that might be of interest to our readers. Both of these applications are now free until August 3rd.
Textender is a straightforward utility app that allows the expansion of SMS messages beyond 160 characters. Integration throughout the system menus allows you to access it from almost anywhere, and multiple numbers for each contact are supported as well. If you are constantly frustrated by only being able to send 160 characters at a time, pick it up now for no charge.
FindMeHere is an interesting little app that takes your current GPS location and provides the Google Maps link, allowing you to easily send your current location to your friends via a number of options, including Twitter. I use it constantly for sending clients a map to my office location, quickly and conveniently.

Google will pay you a measly $1.50 a week to track EVERYTHING on your phone
Google already tracks a lot of your data, whether you want them to or not. But for a mere pittance they'll track even more of it! Why? All so they can better sell ads to put in front of your face. Cooooooool.

ChatGPT's totally predictable disruption of education

Big Oil is coming for EVs (in a good way?)
Some of the biggest oil companies in the world have acknowledged that the future of surface transportation will largely be electric, and they don't want to miss out on that rapidly expanding pie.
