Twitter still won't give you an edit button but they're testing a new 280 character limit

For some Twitter users, 140 characters just is not enough to get out what you need to say. Twitter has now recognized that and has begun testing a new 280 character limit within a small group, so you may eventually be able to tweet your hot takes with even more heat.

How to uninstall or disable applications on the BlackBerry KEYone

The BlackBerry KEYone may have some apps you don't intend to use — here's how to disable them!

While the BlackBerry KEYone doesn't have nearly as much bloatware as many other top phones, it may still have some apps that you don't intend to use. Many apps — including those you installed yourself — can be uninstalled fully, but some others can still be disabled even if they (technically) remain on the device itself. Here's how to make it happen!

How to Disable or Uninstall Apps on the BlackBerry KEYone

  1. Swipe down from the top of the home screen and tap the gear icon to enter your settings.

  2. Scroll down and tap Apps

  3. Tap the app you wish to uninstall or disable, then tap either DISABLE or UNINSTALL.

That's all there is to it! System apps won't give you the option to uninstall, so you'll only be able to disable those if they aren't in use. Always be careful of what you choose to disable however as some apps may be required for certain functions on your device.

Stop searching for a place to plug-in and charge with the $5 RAVPower mini battery pack

This small portable charger can fit in your pocket keep your phone charged to full!

The whole point of the smartphone revolution was we could carry the power of a full-blown computer in our pocket. We didn't have to make room for more stuff... until it came time to charge the battery. Then you needed a backpack just to carry all your cords and power adapters and giant, monolithic, battery packs.

That's the beauty of a mini external charger like the RAVPower Luster Mini 3350mAh portable battery pack. It can fit in your pocket, or purse, and you don't have to go out of your way to keep your phone juiced up. Right now it's down to $4.99 with code RAV3K5SD.

Its normal street price is $11. We haven't seen another deal on this RAVPower since the end of August and that deal only dropped it to $7, not $5.

Despite its size, it still has enough power to fully charge an iPhone 7 and similar phones. Assuming you actually leave the house with a full charge (and didn't forget to charge it all night like I usually do), it should keep you topped off while you're out. Other features include:

  • Thoughtful And Ergonomic Design: White plastic cap at the top and unique clip-inspired design prevent the charger from scratching and rolling off your desk
  • Easy-to-press power button plus three status LEDs keep you informed of remaining capacity
  • 1A output and 1A input: charge faster and smarter than others. Automatically detects and delivers the optimal charging current for any connected device, which ensures the fastest and most efficient charge
  • Short-circuit and over-current protection will make the charger automatically shut down if a short circuit or overload output occur while the unit is charging
  • Ultra reliable Lithium-Ion battery with over 500 battery charge cycles

RAVPower offers an 18-month warranty for the charger as well.

This charger only comes with one USB to micro USB cable, so grab an extra USB-C cord or Lightning cable if you need one.

How to transfer your iCloud Drive files to Google Drive

Keep it in the cloud — just a different cloud!

If you're all-in with Apple, you've most likely been using iCloud Drive (to some extent) to store docs in the cloud. When making the move to Android, iCloud Drive is unfortunately no longer an option, so you'll have to move anything you want to keep over to Google Drive so it's available on your Android device.

As with most transfer processes like this — yes — it's a pain. But the good news is we're here to help ease the pain.

How to disable and deactivate iMessage before switching to Android

Forgetting to disable iMessage can turn out to be a real pain — so turn it off before you make the switch!

Before switching from iPhone to Android, one of the most important things you'll want to do is disable iMessage (providing you're using it in the first place of course). iMessage doesn't work on Android, so it's one of the things you'll need to leave behind when changing platforms. While you can do it after you make the switch, it's waaayyyy easier to do it beforehand to prevent and issues down the road.

You can disable iMessage on your current device in just a few quick steps — here's how to do it:

Picture Password is a security feature that many BlackBerry users love — and it's still available on the BlackBerry KEYone. Keep in mind that you'll also need to set up a primary screen lock if you haven't done so already.

How to use Picture Password on the BlackBerry KEYone

  1. Swipe down from the top of the home screen and tap the gear icon.

  2. Tap Security, then Picture Password. You'll then be asked to confirm your pattern, PIN or password.

  3. Tap the toggle to turn on Picture Password. Then tap continue on the next screen.

  4. Choose a photo that will serve as your picture password (you can always change this later). Then choose a number.

  5. Now drag the circled number to a specific spot on the picture (this will be your password so don't forget where you put it!) then tap continue. Confirm the placement, then tap continue again.

  6. Now you'll be asked to test your password. Do so by dragging your chosen number to the secret spot. Tap finished.

Done! You can now use picture password on your BlackBerry KEYone for a quick, fun and one-handed way to unlock your phone!

Take your tunes to the gym (wirelessly) for $37

Working out is always better with music, and it's always better when it's your own music and not whatever garbage station the gym is pumping over the loudspeaker. That being said, your own tunes and end up being more of a pain than you originally intended, since being caught up in headphone cords is not really the most graceful way to go for a jog or pump iron.

Workout wirelessly with your tunes for $37 Learn more

Wireless headphones are the way to go. Bluetooth is a godsend when it comes to exercise, since you can have your phone down by your bench or in your pocket or in an arm band, and you don't have to be tethered to it in order to enjoy your music. Full freedom.

The Treblab XR500 Wireless Sport Earbuds are Bluetooth headphones that are joined by a cable that can either sit on the back of your neck or in front of it. They regularly retail for $179.99, but through CrackBerry Digital Offers, you can snag 'em for only $36.99, a savings of 79%. They come in black, white, green, pink, and purple, and feature a 9-hour battery life, passive noise cancellation, and an excellent mix of crisp treble, deep bass, and an overall great sound.

The XR500s have a 38-foot Bluetooth range and only take 2 hours to charge, so you can get up and go more quickly than many other wireless headphones. With the earbuds comes a carrying case, a cable clip, three sizes of foam and three sizes of silicone ear tips, and a USB to micro USB charging cable. With an IPX7 water resistance rating, you can even take these earbuds in the shower with you (but you probably shouldn't take them swimming).

If you're looking for a way to enjoy your tunes wirelessly so that you're not constantly having to adjust your headphone cable while working out, then check out the Treblab XR500 Wireless Sport Earbuds at CrackBerry Digital Offers, and save 79%!

This could be the first glimpse of the BlackBerry 'Krypton'

Still, despite all of that information, the 'Krypton' has eluded being caught on camera, mostly. A recently posted image offers up what could be the first glimpse of the next BlackBerry.
