BlackBerry stock has been on the rise since they announced the patent settlement with Facebook and the selling of patents to Huawei but on Monday morning the stock jumped over 40% from Friday and began trending on Twitter.
Since the stock began to rise on little news, BlackBerry has issued a press release in response due to a request from the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada ("IIROC").
The Company is not aware of any material, undisclosed corporate developments and has no material change in its business or affairs that has not been publicly disclosed that would account for the recent increase in the market price or trading volume of its common shares.
According to a report from CBC, BlackBerry stock is just one of many including GameStop, AMC, as well as Bed, Bath and Beyond which are on rise due to investors on Reddit boards looking for bargains to invest in.
