Theme Roundup

Wallpapers? Love 'em. No matter what theme I'm running on my devices, the wallpaper tends to make or break the look of my device. I tend to lean more towards wallpaper-friendly themes for my personal devices, and figured I would throw up a few picks this week for those who love their wallpapers as much as I do. If you aren't lucky enough to have a wallpaper fairy like I do (long story), check out the free wallpaper gallery and load up with a few favorites before testing these themes out.

Free Themes of the Week

Non-Touchscreen

COMPLETELY Blank

Our top pick for free non-touchscreen COMPLETELY Blank by Dannieloco. I came across this theme while browsing the forums, and it's novel approach snagged my attention. The main feature of the theme? Exactly as the name suggests, it's a blank homescreen. No icons, no banners, nothing. Don't let the "Hello Kitty" image above fool you, this will work perfectly with any wallpaper you so choose. If you're looking to do something a little different to your BB this week, you can give it a go, OTA, from the thread below

Touchscreen

VXP

Our next choice if VXP by StaticFX. Keeping with a "clean" feel for our free picks this week, this theme works very well for those of us that love our wallpapers. Smooth colors, custom icons/meters, and a hidden side dock make for a functional, eye-pleasing theme. Change things up on your touch BB this week, the dev has made several versions to suit your tastes in functionality. Get it OTA in the thread below.

Paid Themes of the Week

Non-Touchscreen

Finesse

Our next pick is Finesse by Shankeith. Perfect for showing off your favorite walls, this theme maximizes the amount of screen real estate on your non-touch BB, yet still retains plenty of function. Available in Today and Non-Today versions, with QuickLaunch/ShortcutMe integration, There is a version for every taste. Rounded out with a 10-icon hidden dock, and a very sweet percentage battery meter, it's sure to be well received on any BB. As an added bonus, the dev put the theme on sale until Mar 31st for $2.10 in honor of CB's 3rd BDay!

INK

Our final pick of the week is INK by Dragon INK. While it may not necessary fit with the "minimalist" trend I have going thus far in the roundup, I had to toss this one out there for you. With an all-around "grunge-graffiti" look, and some eye-popping colors, this theme is a nice refresh from the "standard" themes. Featuring 3 hidden sliding docks, and 3 hidden buttons, this theme gives you access to 12 different applications, without cluttering up the homescreen. Featuring custom icons, meters, and a great color combination flowing through the theme, it's a job well done. If you're really looking to make your touch BlackBerry pop, you'll want to check it out.
