The BlackBerry Storm 9500 was the first touchscreen-equipped BlackBerry, and introduced a new type of display that clicked when pressed down. The aim with this technology, SurePress, was to enable a second level of confirmation before entering input. A CDMA variant, the BlackBerry Storm 9530, was also made available. The BlackBerry Storm launched in November 2008.
