BlackBerry keyboard update brings number pad customization options, Chinese and Indian language improvements

As we near the end of the month when BlackBerry typically starts rolling out new builds of their apps, the latest BlackBerry Keyboard update has now arrived in the Google Play Store. For this release, BlackBerry moved beyond the usual minor enhancements and stability fixes and added a few new tricks including improvements to the SlideBoard feature for all-touch devices plus, they included improvements to both Chinese and Indian languages.

What's New

  • Customize the number pad to include symbols and emojis
  • Updates to some of the Chinese language to include missing characters
  • Updates to some of the Indian language to include missing characters
  • Minor enhancements and stability fixes

Any improvements to languages are always great to see and the enhancements to SlideBoard are pretty decent too. I'm not sure how many of you out there use the SlideBoard feature on a regular basis or even remember that it's there, but having the ability to customize it more in line with how you type is the sort of addition that makes sense for a keyboard app. It's those little touches and additions that BlackBerry fans appreciate.
