Happy Halloween everyone! Hope you're all looking forward to a spook-tacular weekend full of treats, goodies, hauntings, and perhaps even a few cool beverages :) We've had another great week here at CrackBerry, and I'm particularly pumped about the arrival of the Storm2. If you haven't checked it out yet, read Kevin's BlackBerry Storm2 Review. Getting back to business, here are the apps covered in this edition of the BlackBerry App Roundup:
In Case You Missed It: Little Chirp Twitter Client for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife 1.7, Google Voice Updated, Boingo Mobile WiFi for BlackBerry
New This Week: Hourglass, faceRate, HDD Halloween Theme, Mario Madness
Apps on Sale: Lock Tilt, Empower SMS Viewer, One Touch SMS, Berry Wars, Calendar Date
Cool at BlackBerry App World: BlackBerry Developer Conference Mobile Guide
Freebie of the Week: Amazon App for BlackBerry
Note: Don't forget, you can always search for titles featured in the App Roundup within App World... Some apps mentioned may be available there for your device.
In Case You Missed It...
Just in case you missed these titles, below are some apps that were covered in the CrackBerry Blogs this past week. Check 'em out!
Little Chirp Twitter Client for BlackBerry

Looking for a basic, easy to use Twitter client? 'Little Chirp' is the latest Twitter client for BlackBerry, and it's bare-bones... but if you're looking for something that is ultra lightweight (is only 15KB in size) and lets you tweet with ease... Little Chirp is the answer. You can pick up Little Chirp for free in App World right now!
Note: While you're at it, you might as well follow @CrackBerry... right?
BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife 1.7

The latest version of BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife was made available earlier this week. With the app now up to version 1.7, here's what you'll find new and notable in this latest build:
- Auto Update Feature Now Included (upon load bbsak will check to verify you have the most current version install)
- Compact view button now available in all expanded windows
- Restore Apps completion popup now pops up at correct time
- Some small speed tweaks also included with this version
For all the details and to download, hit up the developers at RIMGeeks >
Google Voice Updated

Regular users of Google Voice may want to update their app, as it has gone to version 0.1.6 this past week. Nothing truly amazing has been found in the update, and I suspect it's just the usual update full of bug fixes and small changes.
To check it out, hit up https://m.google.com/voice for all the details.
Boingo Mobile WiFi for BlackBerry

Boingo Wireless has over 100,000 hotspots all over the globe. Wouldn't it be nice if you could tap into them from your BlackBerry? Well, now you can thanks to the new Boingo Mobile app for BlackBerry! Compatible with the Bold, Curve 8900 and Curve 8320 for now, the app is free for download. Granted, you'll need to subscribe to Boingo for access, but still... if you do a lot of traveling, I suspect the small monthly fee will be well worth it.
For more info hit up boingo.com, or download OTA right here.
Note: I'd expect to hear of support for more BlackBerry devices on this one in the near future... *cough* Storm2 *cough* :)
New This Week
Hourglass
New from the folks at BBSoft, Hourglass emulates a real hourglass on your screen. Use it for fun, or if you're of the more practical sort, as a timer. You can set it to time anywhere from 5 minutes to 60 hours. Custom options are also on-board that let you choose new sounds, backgrounds, sand color and more.
Two versions of this app are available. One for the Storm and Tour, and another for the Bold and Curve series. Check it out here.
Thanks Igor for sending this one in!
faceRate
This is a fun one. Want to calculate the attractiveness of your face? faceRate uses a mix of science and math to make a calculation and return a rating to you. Snap your picture, select a few features, and the app takes it from there, giving you a rating from 1 to 10. Megan Fox scores a 9.2, Angelina Jolie ranks at 8.3, and Brad Pitt comes home at 8.2. How high will you rank?

HDD Halloween Theme
I couldn't go this week without one mention of a Halloween themed app. In this instance, the theme is actually, well, it's a theme! The HDD Halloween Theme from Hedone Design is available for many models of BlackBerry, and brings a true Halloween flavor to your device. Priced at $6.99, one could say it's not for everyone... But if you're a fan of this spooky holiday you may want to give it a look. It's very well done.
Check out the HDD Halloween Theme >
Mario Madness
One more quick theme this week... and this one is for the gamers in the crowd. Called 'Mario Madness', you can surely guess the backdrop for the theme! Any Nintendo fan will get a kick out of this one... it features some cool custom wallpapers, fonts, icons and more. In a strange way this one is true to form... Being slightly retro and all, this theme is compatible with the slightly 'retro' 8300 Curve series, 87xx series, and 88xx series only. Dig it.
