I hope everyone out there is looking forward to the weekend. The Bold 9700 has been announced, and so far this week there has been much rejoicing. We can expect the 9700 to arrive in early November, so that gives us something to look forward to in the near future! Back in the BlackBerry App realm, there is lots to cover this week. Covered in this weeks' edition of the Roundup are the following titles:
In Case You Missed It: Facebook 1.7, SendX, BerrySilent, Free mIQ Sync Service
New This Week: DoInventory Plus, You Got Blocked, Link Sum, DriveSafe.ly Pro
Apps on Sale: Orbital Series, THE Flashlight, Ace Email Viewer, Free Ringtones Maker, Calendar Date
Cool at BlackBerry App World: Phil Taylor
Freebie of the Week: Google Mobile App
Note: Don't forget, you can always search for titles featured in the App Roundup within App World... Some apps mentioned may be available there for your device.
In Case You Missed It...
Just in case you missed these titles, below are some apps that were covered in the CrackBerry Blogs this past week. Check 'em out!
Facebook 1.7
Facebook addicts had a new version of their beloved BlackBerry app to download this past week. Version 1.7 arrived, and it brought some new features and enhancements including:
- News Feed Support - The ability to set the News Feed as the landing page
- News Feed Filters - The ability to toggle between 'News Feed, Status Updates, Photos & Links'
- Caching Improvements - The application uses the device memory more efficiently.
- Feed Pre-fetching - The user will not be required to wait while their Facebook Feeds are updated
- View Profile Menu Option - Clients may easily view their own profile by selecting 'View my Profile' from the menu.
You can pick up Facebook 1.7 via your App World client, or hit up m.facebook.com from your Berry's browser.
SendX
You may have noticed SendX was on sale earlier this week for 25% off. While the sale is over, I thought I'd tell you about it again anyway. SendX is an ultra-handy app that lets you send info from various built-in apps, from one to the other. Create tasks from your call log, throw emails into your calendar, you get the idea.
For more information on SendX, hit up our store. Very much worth a look!
BerrySilent

Free mIQ Sync Service
Free mIQ almost slipped through our radar without notice. Thankfully a faithful reader tipped us and we were johnny-on-the-spot. The new mIQ service from Best Buy Mobile is now live and available for free. How it works is simple. Install on your Berry, and it will sync your contacts, messages, call logs and media with an online account. You can login to your mIQ account to view all of the data at any time. The app also contains Twitter and Facebook integration, and is a very cool backup tool to have. The only bummer are the ads you'll notice while browsing your account. But hey, guess they have to pay the bills somehow, right?
New This Week
DoInventory Plus
DoInventory Plus is an asset tracking and inventory app for your BlackBerry. Included is a PC companion app that helps you manage data from your BlackBerry to your PC, and vice versa.
Key features include:
- Search - The versatile searching in DoInventory allows you to search on many different fields.
- Custom Fields - Custom fields allow the user to define their own field labels for these customizable fields.
- Barcode Scanner Support - Many popular barcode scanners are supported, including Janam XP20/XP30 scanners, Symbol barcode scanners (MC50/70, CSM150, SPT1500, SPT1550, SPT1700, SPT1800) and Socket SDIO scanners (In-Hand, 3E).
- Import - Export Records - Import and export records from tab and comma delimited (CSV) files for convenient conversion from other applications.
- Password Protection - optional password protection prevents other people from viewing your data.
- Customizable Master Lists - Define your own list of categories, locations, and custom field labels for easy dropdown access.

You Got Blocked
A simple app for sure, You Got Blocked does what you expect it to do... Block unwanted calls. Block individual numbers, toll-free numbers, private numbers and more, and send them straight to voicemail. Plenty of easy to use features are built-in to this one... and it's very useful to have installed if you get hammered with telemarketing or unknown calls throughout the day. All that is required here is OS 4.3+

Link Sum
Link Sum is a new game that I happened to notice in our store... and it should be a winner for anyone out there that enjoys a good puzzle game. The object of the game is to use logic and basic math to figure out number values in all of the hidden blocks displayed on the screen. Many game modes are available, and you can even design and play your own puzzles! You'll need OS 4.2.1+ to run this one...

DriveSafe.ly Pro
I can't tell you how much it annoys me these days when I notice someone blab, blab, blabbing away on their phone while driving. It's unsafe, annoying, and just plain dumb. To help put an end to this, you can pick up a Bluetooth Headset (a much safer handsfree option), and check out this new app called DriveSafe.ly Pro. With this one, the app reads incoming texts and emails out to you, eliminating the need for you to look down at your device while behind the wheel. You can even set it to auto-respond, to let others know you're behind the wheel, and you'll get back to them soon.
Key features:
- Automatically plays incoming text SMS and email messages
- Play messages on demand through menu
- No complicated software to install easy to use
- Small footprint lightweight app does not slow down your phone
- Customizable auto-response and timeout duration
- Human sounding text to speech powered by iSpeech.org
If you absolutely must have access to your phone and email while driving... fine. But please, put something like DriveSafe.ly Pro into play. If it were up to me, I'd force everyone to turn off their devices and throw them in the glove box while behind the wheel... I have a feeling that in another year or two that's going to be the case anyway, there are so many laws popping up against texting and using cell phones while driving that the practice may become a thing of the past.
DriveSafe.ly Pro FTW!

OK, this one is admittedly not for everyone, but if there are any hardcore darts fans out there (like myself), you'll truly get a kick out of this one. In fact, I couldn't believe my eyes when the app 'Phil Taylor' streamed across my field of view while browsing in App World.
Note: If you have no idea who Phil 'The Power' Taylor is, this game isn't for you.
If you're still with me, this new game takes you on a journey around the world playing a variety of darts games. Here's the official description:

Using the unique intuitive dart aiming and throwing controls, take on 9 eccentric darts players and play 9 pub darts games, from ‘Football’, ‘401’ to ‘Cricket’. Also visit the travelling Carnival where you can play crazy games such as, ‘Balloon Bust Up’, ‘Krayzee Quackers’ and ‘Target Practise’. Take a Photo of your friend and throw some arrows at his face in the Carnival ‘Target Practise’ game. 6 Tournaments to play including the World PDC Championships, you will need the focus of a Pro to play with the best at the Las Vegas Desert Classic.
