I'm Free by Bellotti Alessandro

The New Year not only brings a fresh start, but a whole new year of accomplishing our goals and ticking the items off of our resolutions list. For some of us that means kicking a nasty habit or two. While we have the best intentions, trying to keep these resolutions can be difficult. As such, one of the habits that a few of co-workers are trying to kick is smoking. I'm Free is a native application that allows you to track your progress as you try to quit smoking. You can earn badges/achievements, track total days and money saved, and share your statistics on social networks. This Built for BlackBerry application is easy to use and offers a convenient and straightforward way to motivate you. On sale, for a limited time for $0.99, it is compatible with BlackBerry 10.

Dream Remote by QtHelex

From the developer that brought you ClipMan Clipboard Manager and BlackBullet, comes this useful application for controlling your satellite receiver from every point in your house. If you own a compatible DreamBox receiver, a list is available in the BlackBerry World description; you can control your box with your device instead of the remote control. Once you've installed the web interface plugin on your receiver without password protection, connect your BlackBerry to the same network, select your receiver in settings, and then use the on-screen controls. You can purchase this application for $2.99.

Ultimate Robot Fighting by Reliance Games

Fans of robot fighting will be sure to get a kick out of this game. The goal is to build your roster of larger than life robots, upgrade them, and then have them battle various opponents in the arena. The controls are rather easy, for example in one match you can tap three times for a light attack and then swipe for a heavy attack, and yes I admit the combat style is simple. However, what this does have is great animations and visuals, plays well, and is a free app, though there are in-app purchases. The application is available to download from the Amazon Appstore.
