Languinis: Word Puzzle Challenge by Tilting Point Spotlight

Languinis

This game lives up to its description as being one-of-a-kind. Part match game, part word game it certainly offers a new take on the classic match-3 games. In order to help save the captured Languinis and appease the Phoenix God, your goal is to not only match colored elements but spell out words according to the goals of the specific level you are on, which, of course, increase in difficulty as you progress. How do you get these letter tiles you may ask? They appear on the board when you match the like-colored gems. There are various power-ups to help you clear the levels and meet the objectives. It comes with 12 different islands and over 60 levels, cute graphics and sounds, and the ability to sync across different devices. Languinis is free to download from the Amazon Appstore though there are in-app purchases.

Music Doctor – ID3 Tag Editor by xNinjas

Music Doctor

If you are looking to organize your music library and clean up your audio tags, a new application popped up in the forums this week. This soon to be cross-platform application, this is a sneak peek on BlackBerry, scans your music library, allows for multiple file editing at once, predictively suggests artists, albums, and song names, locates missing tags, and supports foreign characters. The application is free to download but with limited functionality. To edit additional tags, you can upgrade for $1.99. As of now it is compatible with all BlackBerry 10 handsets save for the Passport. They are currently working to resolve this issue. Please know that this is a native application even though the developer designed it to resemble Android.

WordMesh – word search by EntwicklerX

WordMesh

Another puzzle game but word searches have always been near and dear to my heart. This version is equipped with eight different categories, two difficulty levels (normal and reverse), several grid sizes, automatically generated puzzles and more than 3,000 words. All you have to do is swipe across the screen to select the letters. You can also choose in settings if words should be spelled backwards to increase difficulty. If you are looking for a great time killer, then be sure to try this out. You can find WordMesh, an Android port, for free in BlackBerry World for all-touch handsets only. While it is free, there are ads that appear at the top of the screen.

Colorfy: Coloring Book for Adults by Fun Games For Free

Colorfly

On a recent visit to Barnes and Noble, I spotted a display in the front of the store devoted to adult coloring books. A friend, who is my age, happened to buy one along with an array of colored pencils so I thought, is there an application that could do the same thing? Going through the Amazon Appstore I came across Colorfy. It is a free application whereby adults (and also your kids) can fill-in beautiful patterns and create their own color combinations with just a tap. All you have to do is select a gallery and image, choose a color, and pinch-to-zoom for more intricate designs. You can also share your creations within the application with your friends, family, and followers. The developer says this is a great way to relax and reduce stress but is also a good way to have fun and pass the time. Once you complete the packs included for free, users may purchase additional books from within the application.

ThirdEye - real time camera filters and photo edit by Marco Bavagnoli

ThirdEye

While there is no shortage of photo editing applications, another one popped up this week after going through a round of testing in the BlackBerry Beta Zone. ThirdEye allows users to apply several filters and effects in real-time, including emojis, sketch, text, and shapes, bring up the native photo editor for additional modifications, and share the results. This is a nice, simple, easy to use native application. As one can never have too many photo editors in their arsenal you can purchase ThirdEye for $1.99.
