Howdy CrackBerry nation! Hope you all are ready for the weekend. What a week it has been. Not only did BlackBerry release a new e-book highlighting enterprise customer success stories and a brief look at the apps on the BlackBerry Leap, but the new BBM Beta granted users the capability to to chat with individuals, not in your BBM contact list.

Now it's time to bring you this week's picks for all your passionate BlackBerry addicts out there. You can find each app and game I've rustled up for you by clicking through the gallery below. If your favorite did not make the cut this week, remember you can help by offering your suggestions at the end.

Headless Biorhythm by Burning Platform

This was a suggestion sent in by a reader and, of course, I jumped at the chance to download. It is an application based on the biorhythm theory that has been around since the 1900's. For a full breakdown on the history behind this theory, please visit this link. That being said, if you want to view your values and readings this native application will calculate it and send an update automatically to the hub for you. The notification contains all of the current values and their interpretation. By opening the application, you can view the monthly graph to track and share your data as well. All you have to do is configure the application with your birthdate and notification time. The application is $0.99 to purchase for all BlackBerry 10 devices.

Yummly by Yummly

I am going to warn you up front right now that cooking was never my specialty. I have been known to either undercook or overcook an item as I sometimes didn't pay attention. My father was the chef in the family while I resigned myself to being his helper. However, one of my New Year's resolution was to get back in the kitchen. Yummly is a meal planning application that puts recipes from around the world at your disposal. It offers a powerful recipe search, the ability to collect, save, and organize your favorite ones in your digital recipe box, view recommendations, and filter recipes based on personalized diets (i.e. allergies). There is no shortage of recipes to choose from. It displays the nutritional information, ingredient list, and step-by-step instructions on how to prepare. Yummly is free to download from the Amazon Appstore. However, in order to collect and organize recipes, you will need to create an account either via Facebook or with an email address.

Funny Or Die Weather. Real Weather. Real Funny. by Funny or Die

I am fully aware that there are several weather applications available for BlackBerry. That being said, upon seeing this offering, by the popular comedy website Funny or Die, I just had to download. This mash up of humor and weather is sometimes just what is needed on a Monday morning at work. The interface is quite elegant. Weather forecasts are provided by Weather Underground and include a five day forecast, current temperature (low and high), barometric pressure, wind speed and direction, humidity, UV index, and sunrise and sunset. However, at the top of the screen is the original content generated by the folks over at Funny or Die. Dubbed as the "weather fact of the day" you're sure to get a laugh at each of the witty comments that appear. Now the only issue I have is the default location that is set to (and this is another joke), Boring, Oregon. It takes only a couple of taps to show your own location, but I know some people might not like this. This application is free to download from the Amazon Appstore.

True Color by Aurelien Hubert

I always enjoy a good puzzle game but this delves more into the psychological. It forces the player to stay focused on what you read instead of what you see. The concept is quite simple. If you choose the tap the true color game you are presented with four circles and each one is in a different color. However, the text in the center of each circle represents a color (i.e. green, red, yellow, blue) which may or may not be the one that corresponds with it. It is your mission to choose the circle where the text and color match. For instance, if you have a yellow circle with red in the middle you know that it is incorrect. If there is a green circle with green marked in the center then that is the correct one. It is not as easy as you would think especially when there is a timer counting down. There are four types of games to choose from and each one presents a different spin on this concept of finding the right color. While it is quite easy to fall into the trap, this game is fun and free to download from the Amazon Appstore.

What You Might Have Missed

Fatal Escape by Ovogame

As James so eloquently pointed out, this game is quite addictive. Although the game itself is quite simple, it is very difficult to play. The object of the game is to collect all the yellow stars all while avoiding the pitfalls and obstacles in your path. There are four different levels to play that vary in difficulty. Now the only question I ask you is whether or not you can put it down? You can grab it for $1.99 for all BlackBerry 10 handsets.
