For those of you in the enterprise environment you may be familiar with Big Hand Dictation software for BlackBerry. Having been around since 2007, they are well known for their easy to deploy dictation application. The latest update being rolled out from them is a new version which focuses on device support and bug fixes. The BlackBerry Bold 9700 and BlackBerry Storm2 have been added to the compatability list. The bug fixes and new additions to the application are as follows:
- Unrestricted individual dictation length or total capacity (limited only by size of SD-card)
- Dictations which fail to be sent due to network coverage are now resent automatically after a configurable period of time. This feature can be enabled or disabled by the user
- Dictation status is also updated automatically after a configurable period of time. This feature can be enabled or disabled by the user
- Simplified deployment & configuration covering permissions, user/email address selection, password prompts & sync exceptions.
With over 100,000 users out there globally, this is a rather significant update for those running the software. In case any companies are considering the services for their users Big Hand does offer up a free 30 day trial of the software via their website. You need need to fill out the contact form.
