Blu-Rays, CDs, vinyls, oh my. Digital media is quickly fading in big box retail stores, but that just continues to make Amazon an even better place to buy it from. We frequently see discounts on popular new releases, older box sets, and just random collectible as well. Many people have moved to digital media, but there is something insanely satisfying about pressing play on a CD player or dropping a needle on a new vinyl.

You may need to dig deep to find just what you're looking for, but if you keep your eyes open, odds are you'll find something you didn't even know you wanted or needed. Whether you want to relive an old memory with a song or make a new one, you won't want to miss out on these deals.

How to get the Best Entertainment Deals:

With stores like Best Buy, Target and Walmart shrinking the shelf space available for media like Blu-Rays, DVDs and CDs, Amazon is slowly becoming the best place to find sales on those items, and Prime Day has already had some early discounts on products like TV show seasons and vinyl records. The event is also offering price drops on digital media including digital HD films and e-books.

Stream and Save: Media services

I don't know the last time I bought a physical DVD, but I do know I've got subscriptions ripping a hole in my bank account every month. I'm betting you live a very similar life, and I bet you'd like to save a little bit on those subscriptions. Prime Day is a good day for that. One of the best ways to save on subscriptions is to route the payments through iTunes and then buy iTunes gift cards at a discount. Amazon sells those cards, among others, and regularly runs deals on them, too. You can also find gift cards for direct services like Netflix, Spotify, and others.

Amazon's services are sure to get discounted on Prime Day. Last year, the months leading up to the big day saw big deals for Audible, Amazon Music, and more. Listen to your favorite books, your favorite music, or watch your favorite shows. We've even seen deals on Amazon Prime Video Channels recently that you can take advantage of like $20 off a year of Quello.

Online

Media Services

If most of your media comes at you through online services instead of physical sources, you'll still find really smart ways to save on Prime Day. Whether you save through discounted gift cards, Prime member savings, or a few free months of Amazon Music, these are deals you won't want to miss.

Audiophiles Rejoice: Vinyls

You might stream music when you're out on the go, but when you're sitting at home with your turntable and high-quality headphones, you want to listen to music the best way possible. At some point in the last few years, people started to realize that streaming music sucked for quality. Vinyls started making a comeback. And now Amazon has jumped on the bandwagon with regular deals on new and classic albums.

We've seen everything from Fleetwood Mac's Greatest Hits to The Eminem Show drop in price. If you're into Ed Sheeran, you might even see Divide drop to $16 like we've seen before. The best thing you can do is look up your favorite tunes and keep them bookmarked. Then check back on the big day.

Rock Out

Vinyls

We don't know exactly what vinyls will drop in price on Prime Day. We do know what ones we've already seen drop in price, including this Fleetwood Mac vinyl. Whatever music you're into, Amazon has you covered. We expect to see a lot of price drops in this area during this year's event.

Fun for the Whole Family: Board Games

Much like vinyls, board games as a category fell out of favor there for a few years while people turned to video games or other forms of entertainment. But more recently they've enjoyed a bit of a renaissance, and the ensuing creativity has spawned such amazing games like Cards Against Humanity and Bears vs. Babies.

We see deals on board games on Amazon all the time. Sometimes they even do huge one-day sales that discount tons of the games by 30% or more. It's plausible we'll see something like that on Prime Day, too. Many board games are as much about the art as they are about the gameplay, and you can find great examples on Amazon like Azul and Tokaido, both of which could go as low as $20.

Need something more intense? Go on an adventure with Gloomhaven or start a game that will end in an inevitable split between the Light side and the Dark with the Star Wars version of Monopoly. This is just the tip of the iceberg for board games on Amazon, and we know the deals will be huge.

Tabletop Entertainment

Board Games

Board games are a big deal on Amazon, and this Prime Day you're going to see some big deals. Save on dozens of games, including a dozen different versions of Monopoly. Seriously, Monopoly is kind of crazy right now: Monopoly for Millennials, Monopoly Pizza, Star Wars Monopoly+, Monopoly Gamer, Monopoly: Fortnite, etc.

Owning is Better than Renting: Blu-rays and DVDs

Ever tried to go re-watch a movie on Netflix only to find it's not there anymore? Then you have to find out what streaming service it is on, if it's on any at all, and hope you own a subscription to it. If you can't find it, then you have to decide how badly you want to watch it and whether or not you should pay to rent. What a pain, right? Well, if you own the movie you never have to worry about that. And if you have a 4K TV, there's no reason you shouldn't own a solid collection of 4K titles.

Amazon might focus a lot on services like Prime Video, but the company has not forgot about physical movies. In fact, we've seen some amazing movies like Alita: Battle Angel and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse go on sale recently. Alita isn't even out on Blu-ray yet, but you can pre-order it for $20 off right now. You can be sure we'll see some other big titles drop in price on Prime Day.

Watch Anytime You Want

Blu-ray and DVDs

We know Amazon loves physical Blu-rays and DVDs, and we see deals all the time. You can even pre-order some movies like Alita: Battle Angel and save big before it even comes out. Expect to see plenty of discounts during Prime Day's big sales.
