Anyhow, this was a good discussion. BlackBerry needs to make second editions, third editions etc. Of phones people like and are accustomed to.
I have the BlackBerry PassportSQW100-1. I love this phone. The best that I have had from all the BlackBerry pkb devices I have owned. The keyboard on this one is superb! However a better camera and having the latest apps are needed. Bring Passport 2.

@Bla1ze can you explain your aversion to contracts? It used to be true that contracts locked you in, but now you simply pay off the device balance and walk away. It is $50 to have the carrier unlock the device for you. Yes, they inflate the value of the device, but my math still makes the price cheaper with a contract: $65/month for 5GB/unlimited national minutes, plus $150 up front for the S7 edge from Telus. So over two years that is $1760, or $1330 if I want to walk away after a year. Those prices include the $50 unlock, and Telus is valuing the S7 at $1000. Telus doesn't offer BYOD discounts on promo-plans, so the alternative is to use Koodoo's $48/month for 5GB unlimited national minutes, and pay $830 for the same phone on amazon, , so 2 years costs me $1982 ($272 more), and if I walk away after 1 year $1406 ($76 more). I get that you get updates sooner (though only about a week difference based on my Telus/Priv experience), and the resell value of the phone is slightly higher, so if you keep your phones for a year it is probably better to go with Koodoo, as you'd make the $76 back on resale. My issue is that you speak is if people who use contracts are idiots because they are opressed by their carrier and pay way more in the end, which isn't true. I don't think it is that cut and dry.
HTC has timebombs put in certain devices, which I was a victim of back ten years ago. **** thing stopped working during a call and never powered on again, not even after pulling of the battery or connecting to USB. Lol
Same for a number of Samsung and other devices recently. It's nuts.
