BlackBerry Mobile heading to GITEX Technology Week

GITEX Technology Week kicks off on October 8 - 12 in Dubai and according to reports coming from local media there, BlackBerry Mobile will be on hand to showcase their products and solutions. As reported by ITP, François Mahieu, Global Head of Sales for BlackBerry Mobile, will provide an overview of their strategy and outlook for 2017 during the opening day of the show.


BlackBerry expands channel ecosystem in India with six new partners

Looking to expand their channel ecosystem in India, BlackBerry has announced the addition of six new partners to design, implement and support its solutions in the country. CPL Systems, Galaxy Office Automation, Jainam Technologies, Meta Infotech, Nucleus Software Exports and XSAT India Services have all joined BlackBerry's Enterprise Partner Program.


BlackBerry announces plans to move to the New York Stock Exchange from NASDAQ

BlackBerry has now fully announced their plan to move their current U.S. common stock from the NASDAQ Global Select Market to the New York Stock Exchange and expects, as of October 16, to begin trading on the NYSE under the new ticker symbol "BB".

Yanfeng Visteon selects BlackBerry QNX for digital instrument cluster project

BlackBerry QNX has scored another win with the announcement that Yanfeng Visteon has selected the QNX Platform for Instrument Clusters for a digital instrument cluster project with a major Chinese OEM.

"BlackBerry's QNX technology has been powering digital instrument clusters in vehicle brands such as Alfa Romeo, Audi, Corvette, Jaguar and Range Rover since 2009," said John Wall, SVP and GM of BlackBerry QNX. "We are honored to partner with Yangfeng Visteon, a leading Tier 1 automotive supplier in China, to bring our secure, scalable, and trusted automotive software to one of the largest car markets in the world."

"BlackBerry QNX was the obvious partner for us due to their deep history in cybersecurity and reliable embedded solutions," said Jayesh Patel, General Manager of Yangfeng Visteon Electronics Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. "Together with BlackBerry QNX, our customer will receive a superior solution with the highest automotive safety certification in the industry."

Although the terms of the deal were not released, this news follows several the recent news of Delphi using BlackBerry QNX for its autonomous driving system and Tokyo Electron Device selling and distributing BlackBerry QNX SDP in Japan.

BlackBerry QNX Selected by Yanfeng Visteon for Digital Instrument Cluster Project

WATERLOO, ONTARIO--(Oct. 2, 2017) - BlackBerry Limited (NASDAQ:BBRY)(TSX:BB) today announced that Yanfeng Visteon, a global Tier 1 automotive supplier, has selected the company's safety-certified QNX Platform for Instrument Clusters 1.0 software for a digital instrument cluster project with a major Chinese OEM. BlackBerry's QNX Platform for Instrument Clusters 1.0 was recently certified by TÜV Rheinland, an independent auditing firm that is globally recognized for functional safety assessments. The QNX software platform has the highest safety certification required by the industry for digital instrument clusters - ISO 26262 ASIL B.

As part of the deal, NTD will develop devices that will be branded by OEMs, carriers and local smartphone brands and marketed as "BlackBerry Secure" due to the use of BlackBerry's security software.


BlackBerry reports record software and services revenue for Q2 Fiscal 2018

BlackBerry has now announced their Q2 fiscal 2018 results. Non-GAAP revenue for the second quarter of fiscal 2018 was $249 million with GAAP revenue of $238 million with software and services reaching revenue of $196 million (non-GAAP) and $185 million (GAAP). With several announcements coming after the quarter, BlackBerry now has a total cash balance of $2.5 billion at the end of the fiscal second quarter.
