Adding to the list of BlackBerry KEYone variants already receiving the Android Oreo update, folks who bought the BlackBerry KEYone Limited Edition Black sold through Optiemus can now check for updates and find Android Oreo 8.1 waiting for them along with the latest security patch.
In their updates, changelogs are provided, so we know that the changes go beyond just Oreo and the latest security patch and include additional carrier support for VoLTE and video calling:
- Android Version Upgrade from Nougat (7.1.1) to Oreo (8.1)
- VoLTE support for Idea/Vodafone operator
- Video Call support for Airtel/Idea/Vodafone operator
- Latest security patch
If you own a BlackBerry KEYone Limited Edition Black, you can check for updates now and see if it's waiting for you. It does appear to be a bit of a staggered rollout, so if you do not see it yet, you'll just have to check back later. If you prefer to wait and see how others are liking the update, you can hit up the CrackBerry Forums where feedback has already started to gather.
