Looking for a new house in the UK? You'll want to download Zoopla for BlackBerry 10

By James Richardson on 12 Sep 2013 03:44 am EDT

Here in the UK one of the most popular ways of finding a new house to buy or rent is by using Zoopla Property Search on the web. Their app has been around on other platforms for some time now, but has finally made its way to BlackBerry 10 - and if you are on the hunt for property, there is no easier way to do it than from your BlackBerry Z10, Q10 or Q5

As you will see in the video - when it comes to filtering the search there is a whole bunch of options, ranging from price to bedrooms. I've actually used the service myself so can speak from experience that this one is worth having on your BlackBerry if you are looking to move house.

Once a search has been done you'll be presented with the list of results. Simply tap on one and that property will be opened full screen giving you all the information you need to know. There will be photos at the top of the display which you can scroll through and under that will be the description. You also have options to view the house on a map, check out nearby schools and stations and have instant access to either phoning or emailing the agent - all from within the app.

If you fancy saving the search to return to it later you can use the star tab at the base of the screen to add the property to your favorites, or if it may be of interest to a friend you can email them the details.

All in all Zoopla is a fantastic BlackBerry 10 app. If you're in the UK, go and grab this one if of interest. It's free and full of awesomeness.

*Update - It turns out that this one is just a launcher for their mobile site. However, with the address bar removed it makes for a nicer looking way of house hunting. Although kind of a cop-out, it is quite clever and if it works well, which it does, I'm happy.*

Saw this the other day and downloaded it, it's very good indeed. To be honest I find it easier to navigate than the website...

Feel it, Swipe it, Love it. BlackBerry Z10...

Where do these companies find those names, and how much did they spend? Lol

It appears to be nothing more than a link to the Zoopla mobile site. Not an application at all.

James Richardson

I'm not sure how that is happening for you? Are you in the UK?

I sure am. Maybe the application and mobile site are essentially identical. I see virtually no difference in presentation and function between the two.

James Richardson

Mmmm, I'll investigate.

James Richardson

You are right, they are identical, however, at least with the BlackBerry World version you don't get the address bar at the bottom of the screen.
As long as it works, and it does, I'm happy.

It's not as if it's a problem or anything, different roads that get you to the same place. I'm more disappointed that my next door neighbours house isn't listed, so I can't spy on how much he wants for it

James Richardson

Haha. You could always pop round and ask him.

Unable to get the app. I think it's not available outside UK.
