For a while now, there has been rumors of BlackBerry and PayPal teaming up to offer customers the ability to send and receive money with PayPal through BBM and finally, some of those rumors have come to fruition. As noted on the Inside BlackBerry blog, starting tomorrow, an external beta will be available for BlackBerry, iOS and Android BBM users in Canada, that will make sending and receiving money through your BBM Chats with PayPal possible and will eventually be rolled out to other regions around the globe in the coming weeks.
BBM and PayPal have teamed up to make sending and receiving money through your BBM Chats even easier. Just connect your PayPal account to your BBM. Once your BBM contacts do the same, you can start sending and receiving money – it's that simple.
Adding this ability expands on the already available options for instant mobile payments through BBM Money. While we'll have to wait and see how it all works when the beta arrives, you can check out the Inside BlackBerry blog for an interview with Matt Gromada, PayPal's Director of Consumer Product Marketing.
