The folks at Xobni have let us know their BlackBerry beta has been rolled out to the masses. Everyone is now welcome to download and check out the application. As we noted in our "What's on a CrackBerry BlackBerry?" article, mostly everyone asked had Xobni installed. If your contact list and inbox is a little messy then Xobni is a sure bet to help you clean up that mess. Since it organizes your contacts by frequency of communication, the most communicated with folks will always be at the top of your list, allowing easy access. The public beta has plenty of bug fixes included as well over the prvious beta:
- Search speed improvements
- Performance improvements for BlackBerry local data integration
- Performance improvements for scrolling in the search results
- Better integration with Blackberry Address book
- Trials and gift code activation
- Phone number source and email snippet from Xobni One/Outlook
- Xobni one status dialog and purchase flow
- LinkedIn Sign-in integration for additional data access (in Options)
- Icon fix for Storm
- Contact update improvements
- Better image integration with LinkedIn and Facebook
- Fixes for recent message, phone and SMS data scanning
If you're looking for a better way to control your address book and contacts, give Xobni a shot today. The latest version is now available for download via the Xobni website via OTA.

wouldn't it be great if the used this form factor for a BB (1 Ghz processor, 4 megs of RAM, 8MP cam w/HD 720p and some bad ass speakers for music). Think about it RIM...oh, but you won't.

It has the storm family look written all over it (but much much sexier). Note the missing trackpad (or trackball) that storms lack. However. Also note the call button. It is not flipped like new devices are, hinting this is an old photoshop. Other hints that bring me to believe it's photoshop are the missing ear speaker and led indicator spot. But all in all blackberry needs this pic to design the next storm.
Thanks.

Not going crazy over the hardware but the software looks nice. This is how the BB OS should look like by default.

I just bought this app about 2 weeks ago! Now its up for free, for a while at least. That's ok. Its worth it.

Ita not free, its asking for an activation code
Nick.net Aug 10, 2010 at 7:46 pm
You have to visit that link from your BB for it to work, which it does. But its NOT FREE
It's a 14 day trial, unless crackberry forgot to give us a beta activation code....

I would have been nice if it was free.

isn't really showing the image we're seeing it "display"? I'm shocked and amazed!
Spartacus802 Aug 10, 2010 at 10:19 pm
I loaded it on my 9000. I get to the sign on page and get the spinning/loading circle that goes on and on and on...for hours! I changed all the permissions. Odd?
MILLYBLICK Aug 10, 2010 at 11:17 pm
is it free or not free?
J-ROLLS420 Aug 11, 2010 at 2:51 am
wtf is up with that storm lol

It has a problem with foreign letters. For example it can't show the Turkish lettters. I'm using xobni in outlook w/o problem but in BB it's no-use until the problem's been fixed
geekymcfly Aug 11, 2010 at 5:01 am
I was just asked to buy it or enter activation code. Really article should advise that it's a paid app
bosscib Aug 11, 2010 at 7:33 am
I also thought it was free after reading about the public beta.

Loving the fact that they're finally giving us a chance to try it out for free with the 14 day trial. I've used it in Outlook before without being very impressed, but I've really meant to check it out on my BB since the CrackBerry team seems to praise it. Excellent opportunity to finally do so for free :-D

Does this app send everyone in your contacts a message that you're using xobni like the desktop version does? I'm guessing it does. It was a disappointment when the Outlook Version spammed all my contacts without telling me
