Ok, as I understand the Blackberry and Wind sites, it looks like the 9800 and 9810 aren't being made compatible with Wind's 3G frequency...

Anyone who actually has technical knowledge in this area care to comment??

well I'm not the guy that has that tech knowledge you are asking for, but according to one of the videos introducing blackberry 7 devices, a rim rep said that the same carriers that got the 9800 will be getting the 9810, and wind didn't... this may be a mistake here, but maybe they decided to make the phone compatible for wind??...

I will be so annoyed if people can start buying the 9790 before I can even get a 9900 from AT&T.

Just a question... I've the Bold 9700 and I love the battery life! 2 days heavy usage... but why not Bold 9900?

First of All YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY
I am Egyptian Canadian and we had an adv in Egypt that says "Why would you pay more when you can pay less"... In brief guys Wind is Awesome! Not a single problem for more than a year now... The bill is 45$ a month and I've unlimited calling, texting, Data, caller ID, VM, bla bla bla comparing to Rogers at 110$ 500 minutes, LD, Caller ID, VM, my 5, and 30 GB data plan! u go pass ur limit u r screwed.... BIG TIME! I mean I didn't get a single bill equivalent to what they promised! Once I cam from a week in Spain to find a 300$/bill waiting for me! The reason was "Exessive data Usage!" I told the CSR: 1- I didn't use data in Canada 2- I was in an IT conference fully covered with Wireless and my phone support wireless 3- I was covered with wireless in my hotel 4- I am not stupid to not use data plan in Canada and use it in Spain 5- I don't have a data plan!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They removed the extra charges and I paid $150... When You are a student you know how much this money is!!!!

Second of all:
I think there is a mistake here
from RIM's website the following model only (from the torch family can work on Operate on Wind)
Torch 9860
Tri-band 3G HSDPA UMTS networks: 2100/1900/850/800 MHz or 2100/1700/900 MHz

Anyway If the 9810 is on Wind I will get it... If not then Bold 9900 (I am not ready for a complete touch experience just yet (My wife has an iphone and I am very slow in typing on it!))

Best of luck WIND.... Bring those prices down!

Forgot to say that the only problem is when I visit my family in St. Catharines... But It's my sweet time to close my phone, facebook, twitter, etc.

It's family time :)

Hey it's me again "It's really getting annoying hehehe" anyway I meant 1 GB plan (30 GB Data plan! it's not 2050 just yet)

Agreed, pretty sure there's a mistake in there.

The 9810 doesn't support AWS/UMTS 1700. So if they do release it, enjoy using it on Rogers' 2G network all the time lol.
