Win A Month of Slacker Radio Plus Service!

Though we have known for a while now that Slacker would be coming to BlackBerry smartphones, it was only earlier last month at CES 2009 when the official launch was made (read Press Release). Speaking of CES, while down on location in Vegas we we also recorded an awesome video overview of Slacker Mobile Application for BlackBerry smartphones by the company's Director of Marketing Communications (video after the jump).

Slacker Radio Plus: While Slacker Personal Radio on its own is awesome and free, upgrading to the Radio Plus Service provides a few big benefits, including unlimited skips, unlimited song requests and no audio or banner ads. The cost to upgrade is $3.99 per month (billed annually at $47.88).

Contest Time: Sweet! Slacker is offering us up 25 1-month subscriptions to Radio Plus to members of CrackBerry.com, so you can really take Radio Plus for an extended test drive. For your chance to win, you only need to do two things:

  • have a valid email address tied to an account setup at Slacker (ie. try the service!)
  • login to CrackBerry.com and make a comment to this blog post!

Contest entry closes Thursday night at midnight EST. The bad news is that Slacker is only in the USA, so that limits the the contest a bit (sorry readers from Canada and around the world!). I downloaded Slacker the day it became available for the BlackBerry Bold. It's incredible, and the free version is just as good as the upgraded one, so after that free month, why pay for it? I get 6 free skips on each channel. If I go over that, I exit out and go back for more. The songs are so good you don't even need more than one skip per channel, and there are dozens of channels :) Why pay for something when you can get it for free? They put an ad on once an hour for 30 seconds. I can live with that. :)

I've been using Slacker on my T-Mobile Blackberry Curve (8320) for about a week now and overall, I'm pretty happy with it. I find it best to cache the stations I like (using a USB connection). But even with the slow EDGE T-Mobile connection... not bad. I'm looking forward to upgrading to the new Curve 8900 soon.

yeah... ive got 20 stations cached on my bold media card and it's really cool. the quality is excellent and im not drawn to skip that much. that said, if i had unlimited skips, maybe....

Hi! I downloaded Slacker and Flycast. By far, Slacker is the better of the two. I even deleted Flycast. Slacker is must easier to navigate and find stations and being able to sync stations is great as well. I would not even trade Slacker for XM radio.

Just downloaded the newly released version for the Storm. So far I am loving it. I am currently on the free version but considering going for the full version. Can't wait to hear each full song.
