Courtesy of the folks at Horizon Wireless, we have 50 FREE Unlock Codes to give away for the Verizon BlackBerry Tour 9630. You'll be wanting to do this if you want to run your Tour on a GSM carrier in North America.

The contest is open to anybody who owns (or plans to own in the very near future) a Verizon BlackBerry Tour 9630! To enter, just be logged in to CrackBerry.com and make a comment on this blog post. The contest will close Sunday at midnight PST (winners announced on Monday), so post your comment now!

Simply follow these directions to unlock any blackberry for free:

1. Dial *#06#

2. Write down IMEI

3. Call Service Provider (Verizon)

4. Ask for the department that will allow for international usage.

5. They will ask for your IMEI and send you an email with your unlock code.

6. Once you have the code just go to options and advanced settings and then type mepd, then type mep2, enter the unlock code they gave you and you're unlocked...now just pop in any SIM and it should work..

I just switched to Verizon and bought the Tour and I love it! Unfortunately, I just found out that the firm I am starting to work at in August only uses ATT and they don't supply hardware - I need to buy a phone myself! Ive had a Blackberry for years now, and ive never been happier.

Yeah yeah yeah! the iPhone is cool, and blah blah blah, but in the end, ITS NOT A BLACKBERRY.

ive spilled water all over my Storm and Curve, and guess what? they both worked PERFECTLY fine, you see heres the deal. iphone is too technologically advanced that thats all it is, to where if your drop it, spill water on it, it will break and/or lose it function. And at the same time, u can have everything, durability, smartness, technology advanced, and sleek style with the, with any BLACKBERRY!!

Unlocking this phone is one of the only things that would make it better. It's great to see Horizon Wireless be so generous to the Crackberry Nation and offer these codes.

To the people spamming step to get a carrier unlock: Be realistic! Verizon doesn't hand out mep codes all day!

I would love it if I won, but if I don't I know where I'm going to buy my unlock code. Thanks Horizon Wireless you guys are great.
