Original Post - April 27th, 2012: As the world's #1 BlackBerry Fanboy, I take pride in always having the latest and greatest BlackBerry. So when the $2,000 Porsche Design P'9981 Smartphone from BlackBerry went on sale in North America, I just had to have it. The P'9981 is an exclusive (and expensive!) smartphone that gets a *lot* of attention thanks to its distinct styling and limited availability. As I mentioned in my P'9981 Review, you kind of feel like a celebrity just owning one.

And as much I enjoy using the P'9981 and being a member of the newly-formed Club P'9981 owners group, I've decided it's time to pay my P'9981 forward to a lucky member of the CrackBerry community. As was pointed out to me in an email I received from a reader earlier this week, the Fearless Leader of CrackBerry Nation should rock a BB more representative of the 99% of CrackBerry Nation, not the < 1%. I couldn't agree more. So I'm back on my white Bold 9900 and my P'9981 is up for grabs!

I would love your P'9981 because it is an awesome phone, my red Torch 9800 has recently broken and i have to borrow a friends old Curve, which is also awesome but its not my beloved torch the reason i got the torch to begin with is because it has both the full keyboard and the touch screen which i love,

also it would be very kool to brag about it lol id imagine i would be the only one in yellowknife, nt, canada, that would have that such phone.

also yesterday was my 28th bday and it would be a pretty awesome bday gift

So if you need a reason why this phone needs to find a new home in my pocket let me tell you what I'm using now.

Blackberry Tour 9630. 3yrs old, and it sucks hard.
Before I recently wiped it and took it down to a minimal config it would take a good 15+ minutes to restart. I could wake up check my messages and maybe there would be an update notice so I would download the new app and it wants to reboot. So fine, I forward all the calls to my landline in case someone calls, and reboot the phone. Go have a shower, make coffee, get the kids out of bed and make their breakfast. Then about half way through my cereal I would notice the screen come to life when the carrier logo flashes up there and it's into the last 30 seconds before I could actually use the thing. Try to remember to turn off the call forwarding at that point and maybe try out the new updated version of whatever led me to reboot in the first place if I can even remember what it was at this point since so much time has passed since I did the update and was asked to reboot I sometimes forget.

Now that's all fine, but then there are the inexplicable random reboots. I launch some third party app and just before it loads the screen goes black and the red LED comes on indicating it's in the initial stages of a reboot. @#$@#$ I say. Hopefully a client doesn't try to call within the next 15-20 minutes as I'm now unreachable by phone.

So yeah, could really use an upgrade. If you don't pick me I'm afraid I may just need to go take drastic action. Cannot really wait for BB 10, don't really want to invest my contract renewal in the old Blackberry models either and be locked in with Telus for the next 2.5 years with the old platform.

So pick me!!!

There are few points why I would like to have this BB: FIrst it's a Blackberry, second It's first porshe design phone which is worth it's price, third I love metal feeling phone in my hand and last I'm a huge fan of porshe especially 911 from 1990, still saving money to buy one in a goog condition.

Let's see, I'm tired of everyone I work with & their iphones, having an original Berry would AWESOME, getting to tell people that I actually WON IT would be even better (especially after explaining how much they cost! Knowing that a middle school Guidance Counselor could never afford a phone like that.) While my 9700 is still kicking just fine, I'd love to have an upgrade & currently is there ANY better upgrade than this one??? I think not. Knowing that I won "Crackberry Kevin's" phone would just add to, the Crackberry bragging rights alone are worth it ;-)

I would definitly like to get your phone because I am a loyal Bold 9000 fan. I refused to upgrade my phone due to the fact that I believe the keyboard is the best on any blackberry. I have been trying to save for a 9900 and am missing my BOLD as it is already, as it has mysteriously died on me. I would really, REALLY love the P'9881, like seriously. It would be nice to be the first person in my country to win anything from this site as well. I hope I win, it would be so awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think anyone ever deserves a 9881, but I definitely want it. I have been a loyal Blackberry dating back to my 950 (which took AA batteries), and then moved on to a 957. When Telus started selling BB I got the first one, and have upgraded to every new phone RIM has released since with Telus. This is the first BB I won't be upgrading to, as the pricetag on a 9881 is just too self indulgent for someone with a family, but I'm hoping you can give me an early father's day gift Kevin!

The P'9981 is the coolest BB on the market and would be an awesome upgrade from my current 9550 (which I just switched to this January from my 9530).

I never upgrade for the sake of "just because". I have to really like the phone to commit to getting it. Before I went to a BB I was rocking a Motorola Razr V1 for almost 5 years (8 years with no contract). My other 2 phones before that were a Motorola V60c and before that was a Startec. Needless to say, not everything catches my eye. To win this Blackberry would be over the top.

I would love to have a Porsche design BlackBerry because those are my two favorite things, combined into one!! And what could be better than that?! No matter how many photos I see of it, it will never look "real" to me, it has always looked fake. In order to see it as real, I would actually have to have it!!

I've showed this device off to a bunch of friends and family members (right here on CrackBerry!) and since I'm considered to be such a huge BlackBerry nut in both my family and circle of friends, they say that I should naturally have this device. because my fiance is holding on to a broken down POS 9700 thats laggy, falling apart, randomly freezes and resets, can't place calls on without a physical headset plugged in because it cuts in and out of headset/handset mode otherwise and she really really deserves to have a decent phone for a change and I can't upgrade to replace hers for a while because were trying to pay for a wedding on July 21st. Help us upgrade her phone!

Hi Kevin, first of all let me say that is an awesome phone, the P'9981. and several reasons why I'd like- no, LOVE to win your phone are :

#1 it's a blackberry
#2 it's a limited edition
#3 it has an awesome design, mindblowing specs, and will most surely turn the heads of the apple fanboys and samsung owners anywhere, anytime.
#4 nuff said.

Basically those reasons alone is a good enough reason for any blackberry fan to desire P'9981. I've been visiting CB for quite sometime (although I've only become a member just now :) ). On that subject, I'd also like to apologize to fellow CB members for not becoming a member sooner.

Well, fingers crossed and i hope you choose me to watch over your P'9981. (promise i'll take great care of it :D)

Well I took a few days to think about why I'd like the P'9981 and the one thought that keeps coming to mind is because then I can show it off to all those iPhone users at work and show them that the BlackBerry brand is not dead. And if they happen to become jealous in the process ... well so be it ;)

The P'9981 LOOKS amazing, and the BB07 platform is pretty sweet ... so I'd show it off to everyone who asks what kind of phone it is. After all the best advertising RIM can get is word of mouth.
