The BlackBerry social team has a pretty unique and SWEET contest going on right now. If you haven't heard about it yet, here are the details:

Does your BBM Music profile feature songs by Common? If you're in the U.S. or Canada, you can take your fan-status a step further and win an exclusive BBM chat with Common himself!

To enter the contest, tweet @BlackBerry today the Common song you love listening to on BBM Music. Include #BBMMusic in your tweet. Every 5th qualifying response wins, with up to 15 winners!  Winners will then get the chance to be in a BBM group with Common this weekend.

Common is a talented rapper. The problem is I've used up all my 50 song on BBM music and I didn't add any of his music because I own most of his CD's already.

Ummm I'm pretty sure almost everyone on this thread has done more in life than Common. Unlike you, we probably don't put musicians and actors on a pedestal.

The only thing Common has achieved in his life is being a second-rate "rapper" at the time that hip-hop and rap really took off.

He used his slight fame as a rapper to get small acting roles.

Dude is a legend? Not in my book, or most of the people here. But have fun in the contest, you talk as if it's the highlight of your life.

Half you probably do not know how common is. He is a legend in the hip hop community with songs with depth and positiveness. He as also played in TV and movies. He currently is on the new AMC show Hell On Wheels. Which is really good. Plus this also shows how RIM is trying to really show the social aspect of bbm and bbm music. With all the celebs that use Berries never know where this kind of fan interaction will go in reintroducing the brand to the people.

this is the worst idea for a contest i've ever seen. even if you love Common, why would you want to BBM with him? At least setup an actual phone call so the winner can have a real experience to remember, not a stupid bbm chat.
