Good news for T-Mobile customers (or prospective customers) that were even a bit jealous of Kevin's "summer" Bold 9700. T-Mobile has made the device available in white and its ready for purchase. If you're looking to get into your summer fashion, you can pick up the white 9700 for just $99 with included discounts and a 2-year contract. This is a great buy if you're kicking an older device on T-Mobile and due for an upgrade. Head over to T-Mobile.com for more.

So yea, only new T-Mobile customers get the $99 deal. Even the customers who bought the black Bold 9700 wont be getting any deals. Trust me, I tried sweet talking TWO T-mobile reps. Nothing. Too bad, T-Mobile should give the customers the option to "upgrade" to a diff color if they have the same phone.

@jeneias, you want to just change your color because you want the new one? I don't like the color of my car. Give me that one instead. Gimme, gimme, gimme. Businesses are run to make a profit so people can feed their families not to cater to your every whim.

saw it today at the t-mo store. it has a iridescences of gold hues. not likeing the fact that its white, and gold, with the silver trim. still undecieded if i want the black or the white 9700....

I liked the 9700 from the get-go; and yes the White color is mad summerish, but when I look at the BB market and all I see in the future is the slider (9800) and the funky flip-berry, I find myself leaning heavily toward the dark side, dare I say it...Android. Im with T-Mobile and the white would be nice, but I have a problem with the memory on the 9700, it just won't have much left for all my apps after BB 6 is loaded up (considering it gets the upgrade at all). I'm not made of money, and I just can't see the point in upgrading now to a phone that will be old news in a couple of months. IF and only IF T-Mo gets the slider, which I have envied since I saw the 1st leaked photo of, I believe I will stay loyal to my BB. But, this new Samsung Galaxy S that T-Mo is supposed to be getting looks pretty disgusting (that is meant in a good way), and I WANT it. HaHa Im feeling the pull and I may give in, so hurry up RIM gimme that 9800 before Android takes another long time BB addict! The white 9700 is flashy and has a nice look, but IMO it jsut came too late in the game to let color alone decide what my next upgrade will be. Should have made both colors available upon release. But to those of you with money to spare on cosmetics alone go for it! Like I said, it does look sic!

Hey guys,

For those of you wanting to change color with the season, I'd suggest using aftermarket housing kits.

I find housing swaps pretty quick on the 9700 (assuming you keep the mid piece black; the one that holds the buttons and camera flash/screen parts or if your kit includes with the pieces installed).

I've gone from OEM, to full black, to brown and I just ordered the white for under $20.00 with shipping.

Just another option :)

I've been waiting on this since I first heard a white bold is in the making. Super excited can't wait. Called tmo today and got a upgrade for 115 and I wasnt even out of contract :)

It literally costs 20 bucks and 20 minutes of your time to do this yourself. Also offered; colors carriers will never have (like see through, brown, green, etc)

I used to do this with 83XX and sell them customized on ebay with matching trackballs. Its not hard and you can convert back to black when it gets cold again.
