One of the key selling points of the Priv is that it offers the best of both worlds when it comes to the keyboard. You can choose the on-screen virtual keyboard if that's how you roll, or you can slide the device open and just pound away on that awesome physical keyboard if you wish. Realistically, I'm sure it doesn't come down to a one of the other situation for most folks, but the choice is there.
Coming from a BlackBerry Passport Silver Edition, which I love, I fully expected to be using the Priv keyboard non-stop as well but it didn't turn out that way, and I personally find myself using the virtual keyboard more so than the physical keyboard. I tend to reserve my physical keyboard usage for when using the on-screen keyboard is somewhat problematic, such as writing really long emails or, sitting in the back of a cab riding to the airport and things are little bumpy.
That said, though, before the Priv was even released, I jokingly mentioned that those wanting an all-touch BlackBerry could just pick up a Priv and glue the slider shut and while I certainly don't suggest doing that, it's not out of the realm of possibility. You really could just glue it shut and never have to use the physical keyboard, and the device would work out just fine for you with no problems at all.
Taking my own keyboard usage under consideration, I'm rather curious how others are using their Priv keyboards. Have you totally been sticking to the physical keyboard for everything? Perhaps, you used to but the Priv has changed that for you and you now use the virtual keyboard a bit more than you have in the past? Perhaps, you were a die hard virtual keyboard user but now you find yourself reaching for those physical keys more? Let me know in the poll below which keyboard you find yourself using the most and of course, feel free to expand on those comments below.
