We posted just last week the video highlights from the BlackBerry JamHack Asia 2012 but more recently RIM has released a video from the JamHack that took place in Vietnam and as you will see the event was BUZZING.

Vietnamese BlackBerry developers were put through a seamless 40-hour challenge where they explore & experience the upcoming BlackBerry 10 and compete with each other to build apps for the new BlackBerry platform. The contest kicked off on October 19 attracting 23 teams comprising of over 130 professional developers, students and BlackBerry enthusiasts who struggle to give their best in 40 hours to conceptualize and build an application for the BlackBerry 10 platform using frameworks such as the BlackBerry 10 Adobe AIR SDK, BlackBerry 10 Native SDK or BlackBerry 10 WebWorks SDK.

The winning team of the contest was Life Box who created an application called Life Box 365.

Life Box 365 was built with experiences of each team member. Within daily life, some ideas are unexpectedly thought in our mind, but we easily forget it, or fail to do it due to some reasons. However, probably, when having enough experience and ability, implementing such ideas is feasible. Life Box 365 helps us be able to save ideas or plans and planning them by time. Moreover, Life Box 365 can record the moments by photo or voice. With the highly practical idea, Life Box surpassed and won 22 teams admirably.

Quoc An - Life Box's leader shares his experience after the competition: "This is the first time we have participated to develop application for BlackBerry, although the platform is new and we were trained just in 1 day only, with BlackBerry 10's HTML5 support, we were able to port our existing skills in web development and design without any problem."

The winners got an amazing prize from RIM - an all expenses paid trip to BlackBerry Jam Asia where our very own Simon Sage is currently - so stay tuned for some interesting posts over the next couple of days.

This is yet another great sign that RIM are doing everything within their power to support developers on a global basis. Only 63 days left to go!
