What 10 qualities or features will BlackBerry 10 devices need to be a success?

Video Chat with BBM contacts (which requires a front facing camera of course). May not be as easy as it sounds, I know...

Video chat is a must to be sure. But can be added through software updates later. If the OS launches without Flash support out of the box, I think the devices will be DOA. It would put IOS as the only platform without Flash and immediately elevate BB10.

Better apps that update periodically like Apple does with their apps on the App Store. I came from an iPhone 4s because I missed BlackBerry's qwerty keyboard and fast email . Good ol BlackBerry is just a faster communications device. I only have 8 apps including memorybooster, bejoose, and batterybooster so that I can get a smoother run on my blackberry and a longer battery life. I've learned to accept that Apple and Samsung just make faster phones but there is no reason why I should be buying third party apps in order to make decent use out of my BlackBerry. Downloading apps on App World is ridiculously slow and even worse, it's very difficult to do anything while its updating (which is rare) or downloading an app. Even a small size app. It used to take me less than 10 secs. average to download an app on Apples App Store while I was reading the news on AP Mobile or wasting my time playing Words With Friends/ Angry Birds. That's another problem, the news apps on App World are laggy and hardly ever update. There just isn't enough developer support with these apps.

1. Better developer support
2. Faster app downloads on App World.
3. A real multitasker device
4. A more practical battery life
5. Better camera to keep up with competition (although, not important to me)
6. Marketing, marketing, marketing!
7. 4G LTE (should be a given by now)
8. Flagship phone for both qwerty and touchscreen phones
9. Marketing, marketing, marketing!
10. Marketing, marketing, marketing!
- what do you (RIM) do better than Apple or Android devices do?
- what do you do that they don't?

I'll just add what I think blackberry 10 needs.
1 Large screen 4inch +
2 Social networking needs to have deep integration and Facebook and Twitter native apps need to be improved and optimized for BB10 out of the box
3 Come in both black and white when debuted
4 Apps and developers
5 4G LTE obviously
6 preferably quad core
7 New, stunning UI with a display surpassing Apple's Retina
8 12mpx back, at least 3 mpx front camera
9 competitive pricing but also needs to seem exclusive
10 KILLER MARKETING

1. Physical keyboard
2. Outstanding design (like the "blade")
3. High resolution display
4. High performance core
5. Long life battery
6. More Apps
7. 4G/LTE at least
8. Theme/color-scheme-variability
9. Aggressive marketing/PR
10. Aggressive marketing/PR
11. Agressive marketing/PR
12. and for germany finally canceling the duty to book/install/purchase a seperate push-option (around 5€/month in average) for using the BlackBerry APN for every BlackBerry-contract (contrary to ALL other smartphones)!

hhm.. 10 qualities from BB10??

1. BATTERY LIFE, 10X BETTER than any other platforms in the market nowadays! come on PARATEK!
2. APPS, yeah we definitely need apps, but i hope RIM can also make their own native apps interactive as well.
3. A new & revamped UI for social feeds app.
4. don't have to have a retina display, but supports HD
5. doesn't get easily overheated!
6. memory management: have to be absolutely stunning, NO LAGS, NO HOUR CLOCK OF DEATH, all apps and commands have to be instant
7. LTE, yeah LTE!! and also, SUPPORTS ALL WCDMA BANDS!
8. video chat & video call capability
9. BBM10 featuring a deep integration to all social media sites and interactive UI
10. LASTLY.. BETTER KEYBOARD! (physical & virtual, COME ON RIM, YOU'RE PRO ON THIS!)

Above all else, I think RIM needs some serious support and outreach programs to get their existing developer base to move up to the BB10 platform. With this new platform, they've essentially orphaned the entire software ecosystem of the current BlackBerry phones, so stepping up to BB10 will not be a trivial undertaking.

By making such a drastic break from the past, they've forced every existing BlackBerry developer to make a value judgment on whether its worth their while to continue supporting the platform. So far, it seems like RIM has *lost* almost every time a big shop has reevaluated their priorities. Now, with a major overhaul like this, even BB-friendly developers might sit back and take a "wait and see" attitude. (Like we've heard so many times on PlayBook app requests...)

RIM really needs to do whatever it takes to bankroll the development of a critical mass of useful applications for their new platform, if they want it to seem viable to end users. While programs like the "free playbook for an app" might sound catchy, the truth is that this just gets us a bunch of useless trinket apps. Any app that's actually contributing value to the platform is going to cost a helluva lot more than $500 (and a few spare weekends) to develop.

1. ASIAN LANGUAGE CAPABILITY, you are loosing a lot of potential consumers
2. Fast navigation
3. No constant freeze, lags
4. High camera resolution
5. Most wanted apps in the market
6. Better battery life especially in operation of games and apps

btw, you're loosing me very soon..

1. 10MP OR 12MP CAMERA WITH AUTO FOCUS AND TAP TO FOCUS DEFINITELY!!!!! HD RECORDING
2. FRONT CAMERA FOR VIDEO CHAT WITH BBM CONTACTS! AND HOPEFULLY, FOR SKYPE
3. TOUCH SCREEN OBVIOUSLY
4. A HIGH CLASS LOOK, NOT THE CHEAP LOOK LIKE 9790
5. 1GB RAM OR MAYBE MORE
6. 8GB HARD DRIVE ITS FINE TO ME
7. 4G LTE
8. WIFI HOTSPOT
9. 1.5 GHZ PROCESSOR OR MORE
10. NOT TOO EXPENSIVE

1. New UI
2. Better apps
3.Faster processor
4. HD Recording/Crystal-clear like camera
5. New logo
6. iPhone/Android like UI
7. Longer battery
8. Kind of mid-range but not really, so that other people can buy too.
9. Import iPhone apps like what you did with Android
10. Front-facing HD camera like Sony Xperia S
11. No lags
12. Epic glass/whatever design (that's what attracts people the most.)
13. Maybe a slide-out keyboard?
14. Better media experience
15. HD Display

specs should at least match the current playbook duel core processor and a gig of ram but given time and things prob at least a 1.5 duel core or even a quad either way it'll at least have the specs of the current playbook in order to run th OS anyway.
video chat with skype/facebook intigration as well cause that would knock everyone else out cause they don't have that.

I don't care about cameras, fancy apps etc. I do care about chatting, SKYPE, BBM development...and better synchronization with Apple laptops....

Zach

1. Qwerty keyboard. one slider model atleast. but definitely touch and type on all.
2. Excellent cloud syncing. what ever is on my PB should appear on BB10 Immediately and viceversa. dont mind paying for this service.
3. hard ware and design like blade
4. front camera.
5. ability to sync phone contacts, calender and tasks with PB via bluetooth.
6. More Apps and games - not really important for me, but looks like it will be a crowd puller.
7. NFC capabilities on PB and phone.
8. All those amazing TAT demos right from day 1
9. Video chat on BBM. video chat app on PB can be synced with BBM if possible. wont need skype if this is possible.
10. Standard BB menu buttons and track pad a must have along with qwerty.
11. ok list never ends, but one final thing - need a good solid Linkedin appp for both PB and BB10. dont understand why its not available for OS7and PB2.0.
12. ok sorry, last - ferari PB. :)))

1. Touch screen device. Yeah, I know keyboards are popular with the BB faithful, but it is not what the average user wants.
2. Smooth OS, almost never a battery pull needed because the device freezes.
3. Apps, again this is what the public perceives as necessary and wants.
4. Awesome browsing experience.
5. Specs, again this is a perceived need, but it will not sell if the specs aren't current.
6. Something different that is BB and not on Android or iOS, something in the UI or physical on the device. I don't know exactly what.
7. Build quality, RIM is pretty good at this, but really needs to hit this one.
8. Battery life, OS7 is a bit short on this, and I know that with dual or quad cores and graphic cores this eats power, but must last 12-18 hours with heavy usage
9. A minimum 4" touch screen with gorilla glass and a pixel count.
10. Autofocus camera
11. I know it was to be 10 but, GET THE DEVICE OUT ON TIME, no 3-6 month delays. This would be unacceptable.

To attract new customer

4" high resolution Screen.
Two cameras, high spec rear facing camera, autofocus etc.
The major apps available at launch either natively or with an improved Android player ( skype, netflix, kindle, linkedin, Twitter etc.)
A clear and conscistent staregy for apps and app development.
Best in class perfromance (RAM, quad core CPU)
All radios: 4 G, NFS etc.
A fully functional device ready at launch.
Heavily supsidised prices at launch. RIM must be prepared to make a loss in the short term
Heavy marketing and advertising. "BB London: The official phone of the 2012 Olmpic games."

To retain RIM faitful.

Touch screen only and combo touchscreen/keyboard version.
Enhanced BBM features e.g. video chat.
Best in class battery.
A phone that is an excellent communication device, call quality. integrated conferening.
LED notification.
For business customer enhancements to BDS for mail and PIM integration.

1.Better developer Support!
2.Better app market place, app world NEEDS help
3.Better battery lifen than this 9900 am using
4.Ability to save+runs apps from media card
5.Better marketing,this should be #1 I think!
6.Improved browser experience.OS7=good start!
7.Marketing to consumor+developers!!!!!!!
8.Improved Media experience.
9.Improved DLNA=Rendering+Sharing!
10.Might seem simple but how hard would it be to imporve the camera,am talkin auto focus, silent mode and intervalometer seriously!

1. Cross platform communication, apps and games. (Skype, tango, words with friends...) BB users are feeling like being left behind.
2. Key apps.
2. State of the art specs and design. (including front facing camera) Regarding camera quality, my 9860's is pretty good and sports autofocus. I really do not get the lack of support and promotion for this device, most people do not know BB sells this kind of touchscreen device. Keypads and BB are the past for general public, big touch screens are the future (sorry keypad lovers, keypads on BB's are not attracting many customers nowadays).
3. Stable OS. (3rd party apps always mess up)
4. Active communication and MKG. Create a concept and tribe, users are not buying phones or specs or cameras anymore, they are buying a meant-to-be-cool iphone lifestyle or performance big screen cool anti iphone alternative android device. I bet 80% of iphone users only take advantage of 20% of the device features. But owning an iphone is the thing to do, as silly as it sounds.
5. Focus more on consumers and less on carriers, if consumers go BB, BB will make carriers earn customers and carriers will support BB. Apple screw carriers and carriers support apple (as was the case in Spain, where carriers had continuosly subsidized iphones even if that meant narrower margins). But people want the iphone...

1) Much better marketing geared toward phone capabilities and function.
2) Match marketing with differentiation, two top line phones with proprietary technology.
3) Fewer phones, two topline and two budget line..
4) A 3.25 BB 10 Bold, (the perfect business phone) & 4 inch touch, I'll buy both..
5) Less apps but 100 flawless business apps that let people like myself manage our investments on the go. All bank apps available along with business site apps that are current,
6) If the phone is proprietary access to all other apps should be available.
7) Access to all social sites.
8) 3 MP front camera and at least 8 MP rear with auto focus.
9) ! gb ram and 1.5 processor minimum.
10) If your product cycle continues to offset your competition by six months then plan on beating them at their game for at least 6 months, this isn't rocket science!!

To the above:
Your proposals will not work because they either:
1. Have high startup costs with no proposed way of covering them from increased revenue
2. Are merely extensions of what the competition are already doing, except that the competition buys in bigger volume so can do it cheaper
3. Rely on marketing-style features, where RIM can always be outspent by Samsung or Apple
4. Rely on the good will of other corporations who may already be getting large, hidden subventions from Apple to make the good versions of their product iOS-exclusive
5. Appeal too much to an under-25 demographic whereas, in reality, it is the over-40s that have all the money to spend on high end phones
6. Expect RIM to offer, for free, a service which is expensive to implement and has no revenue from advertising.

I don't have a wonderful fix for RIM (and if I did I would doubtless be trying to get to present it to the Board right now.) But their strengths are:
1. Security
2. Hardware robustness
3. Relatively low entry cost - Curves are cheap for what they are
4. Largely advert free
5. Easy to remove crapware
6. Tablet integration - nobody else does this
7. Excellent communications devices.
8. First to make extensive use of NFC
On top, QNX has the best multitasking of any OS out there.

I think a workable strategy must take those points into account. RIM is best for productive workers and vertical markets. What I want to see is a smartphone that allows a small trader or artisan to run his or her entire business through a phone. This could include NFC payments, cash tracking, back end accounting and inventory updating/downdating, email of invoices and other documents. Larger stuff could be done back at home on a Playbook. It isn't glamorous, but outside the USA there are many millions of small businesses, businesses with lots of field service personnel and the like, and for them RIM is potentially the best option available - right down to the simple fact that, unlike an iPhone, you can carry a spare battery.

QNX gives RIM the chance to build a low cost workable small business infrastructure.

For BB 10 to succeed, RIM only needs to do three things, but MUST do them perfectly:

The three things are:

Quality Quality Quality

.

1. a browser that supports both HTML5 and Flash
2. Awesome front and rear cameras
3. VideoChat that talks to PB as well as BB and some way to use on PC and maybe even Droids.
4. Some kind of free cloud storage beyond dropbox or a deal with them for 5GB like Samsung has.
5. Both Keyboard and full touch screens.
6. Continue and expand bridge with PB
7. Easy and intuitive wireless synch with PC and PB (organic not an app)
8. A way to integrate BBM Music and Stored/purchased songs on a Playlist.
9. A blow away integration with android devices so they can Vchat with eachother and sideload android apps
10. Loooong battery life.

The Bold 9930 is an awesome device and I love it. I don't need Netflix, Video Chat on my phone, and I do appreciate the most secure device with the best messaging and keyboard today. However, I want BlackBerry to resume growth in the U.S. and that is going to take something like the "Blade" to get the attention of many U.S. consumers.

in no particular order:
1. better battery life
2. front facing camera
3. qwerty keyboard (Bold 99xx series)
4. faster so you can update apps and still use your phone
5. streamlined design (the blade concept a few days ago is a good start)
6. apps, apps, apps. We shouldn't need to play Sketch w/ friends because Draw something is not available-----> Translation: make it easy for devs to write apps for BB
7. same OS on both the tablet and the phone. I mean the SAME, not same-ish
8. exact release date, not a BB7 like release when we didn't know anything concrete until the phones were in the store
9. marketing and promotion: spread the word about the release of BB10, advertise on all media, target consumer groups with targeted ads, not the cr@ppy commercials of today
10. surprise us with a awesome feature no one expects

DON'T come up with a quad core processor that eats through the battery in 1/2 a day when you could optimize this great piece of software called QNX for optimal run on a dual core.

1. full-screen touch device w/ bezel gestures & a bold qwerty device
2. front and rear facing camera w/ video capabilities via bbm
3. sexy sleek device
4. TAT influence on the UI
5. high res screen
6. exceptional battery life.
7. impressive specs - 1.5 dual core (minimum) and 1 gig ram, sixteen gigs onboard memory
8. cloud storage / better desktop syncing
9. Better push and syncing on BIS. (active sync is actually better than BIS for email)
10. impressive marketing.

1. Physical QWERTY
2. VERY high resolution Gorilla-glass touchscreen wasting ZERO real estate (basically the 9900 but use every millimeter you can of the phone for the screen).
3. Front and rear AUTO-FOCUS HD cameras with video-calling
4. Best overall battery life (vs. competition's equivalent feature phone) on the market (and actually MARKET that).
5. Keep existing keyboard shortcuts intact!
6. Universal remote control over WiFi (control my TVs, stereos, Bluray, cable box, ROKU or similar, etc just like any other universal remote control).
7. Remote desktop.
8. Improved speed, broader-ranged compression through BIS and MARKET that (our phones use less data than competition).

They need to really watch the forums to see what is being requested. The success of the Galaxy Note shows an unusual desire. However, much of the above shows a wide diversity of wants all which are good. HOWEVER -

MARKETING can overcome most obstacles. Look what politicians sell us. Charisma can over come many short comings.

A "maximum" of 3 handsets total.
Hardware keyboard with touchscreen ala 9900
Slider ala 9810
Full Touch
Skype and Netflix (not that I use them).

QUALITIES BB10 MUST HAVE ( IF ITS POSSIBLE, MY CHOICES, HOPE I MAKE SENSE )

BATERRY --- SOLAR POWER ( THIS COULD LOOSE MOST 2ND & 3RD PARTIES, AND ALSO MAYBE RIM. BUT IF THEY MAKE IT POSSIBLE. RIM WILL BE THE FIRST TO HAVE IT AVAILABLE AND THIS WILL SURELY ATTRACT MORE CUSTOMERS. WE HAVE IT ON OUR CALCULATORS, SO WHY NOT?! )

SCREEN SIZE/HARDWARE ----- 4.0 TOUCH SCREEN,THIN DESIGN AND STILL POCKTABLE. DUAL ANTENNA WIRE BAND. NOTIFICATIONS LED SHOULD STILL BE PRESENT. " BLACKBERRY " WORD/LOGO THAT WE SEE ON TOP OF OUR DEVICES SHOULD FUNCTION AS " SLIDE TO UNLOCK " AND IT GLOWS FROM LEFT TO RIGHT. GORILLA GLASS,OR BOOST THE IQ LEVEL OF LIQUID GRAPHIC TO ANSWER RETINA. A NICE CONVENIENCE KEYS NOT 1 OR 2, BUT 3 BUTTONS. IT IS REALLY EASY TO HAVE THESE ACCESS WHEN YOUR ON TO GO.

SLIDER QWERTY KEYS ----- BOLD 9900/30 ARE BETTER, ADD 2% WOULD BE BEST. TRACKPAD STILL MUST BE PRESENT ( WHY?! BEC. IT'S STILL A GOOD THING WHEN YOU HAVE A SECONDARY OPTION TO SCROOL LEFT TO RIGHT AND UP/DOWN.)

APP WORLD ------- BOOST THE APPS THAT ARE SOLID USABLE/MAKE SENSE AND RELIABLE. WHEN I SAY THIS, IT MEANS WE DON'T NEED APPS THAT MAKES FARTING SOUNDS OR GHOST/SANTA TRACKER.

CAMERA ------ 8MP W/FLASH FOR BOTH FRONT/BACK, PLEASE ABLE ZOOM IN/OUT CAPABLE OF 1080 VIDEO W/VIDEO CHAT FOR BOTH PHONES AND PLAYBOOK AND INTEGRATES WITH BBM. MORE SCENE MODES FOR TAKING PHOTOS.

UI/MEMORY----DUAL 2.0 GHZ, 16GB INTERNAL MEMORY, SD CARD SLOT. TAT FUNCTIONS. LOUDER SPEAKER 4G LTE. HDMI PORT. NFC FOR PLAYBOOK.

PRICES: ----- MUST BE AFFORTABLE, WHERE CUSTOMER DON'T LOOSE ANY OF CAPABILITIES AND OPTIONS FROM THE HIGH END DEVICES. SO EVERYBODY ARE HAPPY, SORRY NOT A FAN OF PORCHE DESIGN ( NOT A $2000 WORTH DEVICE, JUST TO LOOK DIFFERENT )

ADVERTISEMENT: SHOW RIM WHAT'S ALL ABOUT, SECURED ROCK SOLID DEVICE, NOT CLICHE BUT MORE DETAILS. THE COMMERCIALS WE SEE RIGHT NOW ARE REALLY WEAK AND NOT SO CATCHY...IT NEEDS TO SHOW MORE ABOUT THE DEVICE ITSELF. WE SAY "WE NEED TOOLS, NOT TOYS "... LET PEOPLE KNOW WHAT IT MEANS..!!!

I HOPE YOU GUYS AGREE WITH ME......OR JUST GIVE ME A SMALLER 4.0 PLAYBOOK VERSION AND UPDATE IT TO BB10. HEHE...

APOLOGIZED FOR MY CAPITALIZATIONS, WHAT CAN I SAY... " IM ON CRACKBERRY.COM "

Many good suggestions above.

I would say programmable auto profile changing based on time/location/wife/gps/bt should be built into the OS.

Higher res, front and back cams, with video mode having at least the sound recording quality of the iPhone 4.

A silent camera shutter option

large screen + physical keyboard (at least a torch style keyboard if not 9900 style)

A screen, that when displaying barcodes, can be read by store/business code readers.

+ most of the other things others above have requested.

then it would be the killer phone.

Option to increase/decrease icon sizes.

Better page wrapping/sizing (a lot of older eyes use BB, give us some love!)

better (flash?) video playback, so that apps like NewRepulik would play vids as well as IOS/Android

4.6" gorilla glass
Dual core @1.5 ghz minimum
nfc
Netflix & skype
Tat
Bbm across any device
Battery life!!!
Use e ink display at top and bottom of screen ( so devs can map any input buttons or sliders they want for game inputs or game stats. Any app could have control over these input areas)
When in landscape speakers use 3d sound mode ( binaural technique! )
Facial recognition optimized for any lighting
Be bold

- Open software architecture that makes it easy to write apps.
- Provision to keep the QWERTY leyboard.
- Ease of porting apps to <> from the Playbook platform so as to leverage developer efforts.
- RIM doing controls on ALL App World apps to make sure that they do not contain malware and do not compromise RIM's BlackBerry security.
- Printing directly from the handheld.

In order to get me to switch from my iPhone in an instant and grab others the must:

The following deals with both models although I concentrate upon the full touchscreen model as that is what I'd buy.

1. Great battery life - at least as good as the iPhone as it will be compared to this.
2. Full touch device (and one with physical keyboard). That's all.
3. The OS MUST be clean, simple to use, and it has to "just work". It must include every single feature of OS 7.1 plus Playbook OS 2.0 and more. This is very important, as the OS must be fully functional. Think ahead.
4. Cloud features (I don't care much about this but others do).
5. Stunning, high end, must-have design. Must be thin and not too heavy. Black and white versions.
6. Excellent build quality. Stay away from plastic.
7. 4" touch screen display. I'd say at least 3" for the physical keyboard version and both screens must be scalable to each other to make it easier for developers.
8. Excellent, industry leading specs: very high resolution screen with excellent touch accuracy and response (like the iPhone), at least 1 gb ram (maybe even 1.5-2), at least 1.5 gz dual-core processor (or even quad-core), excellent graphics capabilities (quad-core?), all the current sensors, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, dual-band Wi-fi (if possible in a phone. The next playbook will have it according to the FCC filings), 8+mp autofocus with great lens and all the other tech (think iPhone) rear camera, 2mp front camera (obviously HD or both), I don't care about a removable battery (if it improves build quality, weight, and thickness make it non-removable as long as it's a great battery), nano sim to save space maybe, excellent speaker(s) (not on the back of the phone!), dual microphones for sound-cancelling), etc.
9. Seemless integration with other Blackberries and the Playbook.
10. True DLNA and Wi-fi Direct
11. Again, the software must not stutter at all, no screen transition lag, no bugs, and be fast.
12. Be as much of a world phone as possible. HSPA+ (at the absolute minimum) and LTE.
13. It goes without saying, apps and lots of them. App World must be easy to use and fast. Pay Skype and Netflix if you must. Get exclusive, great apps that will make people want them.
14. I think RIM should ditch as many buttons as possible and use touch-sensitive bezels like the Playbook. I love that about the Playbook. It really opens up the possibilities. If they must have buttons, use the capacitive touch ones (similar to the Bold 9900 I believe).
15. A great music and video store, plus a great ebook store/app.
16. 16/32/64 GB built in storage
17. Maybe micro HDMI (expandable memory and other inputs aren't important to me).

There's my wish list.

If they did all that, it'd be the greatest smart... no, superphone ever made.

RIM needs to have a very aggressive marketing campaign that shows consumers why to buy and what the phone actually does. It has to be cool but simple and be realistic. Highlight different important features in each advert and have great slogans. Appeal bit repel.

Basically it comes down to: battery life, beautiful design, and great, smooth UI.

They must launch immediately (a week or two at the most) after reveal.

Nothing new to say here.
1. more apps, I don't need them but many many do. I work at Rogers and we get so many mind dumbing "but the x y z phone has apps"... not that people know what they're talking about all the time but there's the masses' insight. If doable, finding a hit game (ie draw something, whatever I don't play that garbage) that isn't available on other os platforms.

2. Better screen, I have no huge problem with mine but the super amoled screens are gorgeous, keep up. One lame but legit example is when my boyfriend and I take the same picture with our same 5mp cameras, his on an iPhone 4 and me on a 9810, his look astoundingly better just on the screen, nevermind editing software.

3. Themes, ready when the phone is released. iPhones are barely customizable, Androids have a lot of stuff you can put on the screens but Blackberries have people prepackaging concepts you can put on your phone, and we're already behind. I just want Today options for my 9810 :(

4. LTE.

5. Something exclusive re bbm, whether it's a Facetime concept, or keeping BBM within RIM and not letting other carriers get their hands on it.

6. Larger screens? Maybe?

7. Ease of app creating available to developers, leave the old OS stuff behind. Developers are still trying to make stuff work for old versions, let's keep it updated so newers developers/apps are excited to produce for RIM, not feel awful that they'll have to update everything for phones that are three years old.

8. Do not wait until the close of 2012 to introduce this stuff, everyone will be onto new stuff by then. There's so many anticipated releases for the year already, get on board with that, intercept that crowd that's been putting off their upgrades. Don't wait until they've picked up their new device.

1. improve battery life
2.better hardware; 10 mp camera with better lens and auto-focus (people like sharing photos via phones to twitter, fb, bbm, so this must be done.)
3.apps, apps, apps
4. 4G LTE
5. even better communication experience (that would make RIM in the advantage for some time)
6. faster web browsing (html5), must support flash
7. marketing- blackberry had shit market, in my country blackberry never had any commercial, people even don't know for bb (I'm from Slovenia-Europe). They need celebs who actually use blackberry to promote the phones like Kim Kardashian, Lady Gaga, 50 Cent, Rihanna, Beyonce (this celebs twitting from bb so that's why i know). This would greatly increase the market

I don't think bb10 need front facing camera, its heard fancy that u could talk via video via bbm, but people will not use it so much. Like no one use video chat on iphone or any other phone.
