Announced this morning at WES 2009, LogMeIn has introduced Ignition for the BlackBerry Storm. Currently in Alpha stages at this point with a release to beta expected soon, Ignition looks to be well underway and even in its Alpha form I can see me replacing at least 2-3 applications with this all-in-one solution. WOBURN, Mass. May 5, 2009, Wireless Enterprise Symposium 2009 – The ability to access and control a computer from a BlackBerry Storm smartphone is coming soon from LogMeIn. LogMeIn Ignition for the BlackBerry Storm smartphone will allow users to access their Internet-connected Windows- and Mac-based computers from virtually anywhere and work as if they were sitting in front of them.

LogMeIn will demonstrate an alpha version of Ignition for the BlackBerry Storm smartphone during WES 2009 at booth #503, May 5-7 in Orlando, Fla.

BlackBerry Storm smartphone users can access files and programs on any remote Internet-connected computer as if they were sitting in front of it. LogMeIn Ignition is compatible with Windows PCs running LogMeIn Pro, LogMeIn IT Reach or LogMeIn Free, and Mac OS X computers running LogMeIn Free.

Saved passwords

With LogMeIn Ignition's secure password storage, remote computers are only one click away. Eliminate the hassle and headaches associated with trying to remember multiple passwords or access codes without compromising security.

See all of the available connected computers in your LogMeIn account, as well as their online/offline status.

Touch screen navigation & full keyboard

Zoom in or out with just a click and Scroll and select all with just a flick of a fingertip.  Typing is available by activating a full on-screen QWERTY keyboard, as well as special keyboards, including function keys, tab, ESC and navigation arrows.

In addition, LogMeIn Ignition provides always-on security, and uses the same 256-bit SSL encryption as LogMeIn Pro, IT Reach and Free to encrypt and protect remote connections over public networks. It is easy to set up, even for the non-technical user. There are no firewall settings to be updated, no router configuration, no ports to be opened up or re-routed, and no need for static IP addresses.
