LogMeIn Ignition Screen!

Get anytime, anywhere access to the programs and files
you need every day - whether you're in the office or on the go.

Does the above slogan seem like something you would be interested in? LogMeIn has announced a solution to help Windows and Mac users make this happen with their new Ignition remote desktop solution.

Announced this morning at WES 2009, LogMeIn has introduced Ignition for the BlackBerry Storm. Currently in Alpha stages at this point with a release to beta expected soon, Ignition looks to be well underway and even in its Alpha form I can see me replacing at least 2-3 applications with this all-in-one solution. Read on for the full press release.

Press Release

WOBURN, Mass. May 5, 2009, Wireless Enterprise Symposium 2009 – The ability to access and control a computer from a BlackBerry Storm smartphone is coming soon from LogMeIn. LogMeIn Ignition for the BlackBerry Storm smartphone will allow users to access their Internet-connected Windows- and Mac-based computers from virtually anywhere and work as if they were sitting in front of them.

LogMeIn will demonstrate an alpha version of Ignition for the BlackBerry Storm smartphone during WES 2009 at booth #503, May 5-7 in Orlando, Fla.

“BlackBerry smartphone users are accustomed to being productive while on-the-go; LogMeIn extends users’ mobility by making their office and home computers fully accessible from their smartphone,” said Kevin Farrell, vice president and general manager, Digital Living at LogMeIn. “Ignition will be optimized for use with the BlackBerry Storm and make it easy for anyone to carry the power of their computer with them virtually anywhere—without the weight.”

Key features planned for LogMeIn Ignition include:

Remote control

BlackBerry Storm smartphone users can access files and programs on any remote Internet-connected computer as if they were sitting in front of it. LogMeIn Ignition is compatible with Windows PCs running LogMeIn Pro, LogMeIn IT Reach or LogMeIn Free, and Mac OS X computers running LogMeIn Free.

Saved passwords

With LogMeIn Ignition's secure password storage, remote computers are only one click away. Eliminate the hassle and headaches associated with trying to remember multiple passwords or access codes without compromising security.

“My Computers” List

See all of the available connected computers in your LogMeIn account, as well as their online/offline status.

Touch screen navigation & full keyboard

Zoom in or out with just a click and Scroll and select all with just a flick of a fingertip.  Typing is available by activating a full on-screen QWERTY keyboard, as well as special keyboards, including function keys, tab, ESC and navigation arrows.

In addition, LogMeIn Ignition provides always-on security, and uses the same 256-bit SSL encryption as LogMeIn Pro, IT Reach and Free to encrypt and protect remote connections over public networks. It is easy to set up, even for the non-technical user. There are no firewall settings to be updated, no router configuration, no ports to be opened up or re-routed, and no need for static IP addresses.

Availability

LogMeIn Ignition for the BlackBerry Storm smartphone is currently in alpha.  Sign up to learn more and be notified of beta at www.LogMeIn.com/StormPreview.

I have been using logmein for awhile now. I can't wait!

Any ideas on the price of this service?

Seems like it would be great in a pinch!

sweeeeeeeet!!!!

I use ignition all the time... and it works well on the iPhone... can't wait to use it on my storm!

Wait, is this the program that lets you access your desktop remotely? I think I remember reading about how several owners of laptops and cellphones have been able to use this when their hardware gets stolen.

hudss

but will most likely pass due to pricing. 40.00 a year..would rather pay a one time fee

Sweet prog. It'd really help w/ work & troubleshooting my gf's laptop.

Highly annoyed that we're seeing a Storm version before a Bold version, Rove Mobile has Mobile Admin which supports Remote Desktop for the Bold for awhile now...

I JUST bought RDM+ two days ago. I sure hope this one is faster than RDM+. That thing takes forever to do anything.

Sounds like a great app

I use LogMeIn for work all the time when I connect from home, it'll be nice to have the option to pull over on the highway and get something done for those clients who need that estimate I was working on... yesterday...

....of being able to play online poker on my Storm.

$40/year doesn't sound too bad, but i rather pay a one-time fee.

Not even gonna bother if it's subscription based. If the logmein site ends up working on Skyfire then this is going to be extra worthless.

The best mobile solution yet

Where di $40 come from... currently sold for $29.99 on the iPhone. I can't wait for it to be available!

cadzilla74

Paid $19.95 for RDM+, sale is still going on, works perfect on my Storm and have it installed on 4 client PCs already that I can take over in a matter of seconds ...

Why pay a recurring fee when RDM+ is a one-time buy? And is a proven performer to boot ... and there is no limit to the number of PCs you can set up as targets ... install the desktop app on any PC and register it, then add it on your Storm to the "target list" ... you only are paying $20 for the license on the Storm ... I'm sure I'm not alone but I get calls from people all the time that need PC help and now I can check them out from my Storm instead of waiting until I can get to a PC that has VPN or Remote Desktop set up on it ... just magical, it's fast and the Zoom works great and is fast ...

Logmein is know for its innovative things and Blackberry app is a new addition in line. Additionally, one can even use RHUB`s remote support servers for remotely accessing computers using Blackberry, (Browser is required) iPhones, iPads, etc. It works well.
