There's pretty much no escaping the news of the new Beats streaming music service aptly named Beats Music. As somewhat expected though, they've left support for BlackBerry 10 out of the mix launching on iOS, Android and come Friday, Windows Phone. But with that said, there's still a way to give it a go if you're running the latest leaked BlackBerry 10 OS.

With the ability for that OS to load APK files directly, all you need to do is download the Beats Music APK, install it, register your account and you'll be up and running. Beats Music gives you a free 7-day trial to try out it out and see how you like it all. If you don't like, you're out nothing. Just trash the app from your device and move on, no credit card to wipe from their database or anything.

Sadly, the old method of converting the APK to BAR file will not work in this case but if you're looking to install the latest leak or already on that OS, you're good to go. Keep in mind though the Beats Music service only appears to be working in the U.S. for now though I have it working in Canada as well, so if you're not in those regions no matter what you do, you're out of luck.

It's worth noting that they also stream music from the Web, and they have a decent mobile site. That may be the way to go if the apk route isn't your thing.

I haven't been able to try the service out my self as it's not available in Canada yet.

I just downloaded the apk. The file works fine, but it won't let me create an account in Canada.

Is there a way to bypass this?

Proxy server, if you can't do it from the phone, sign up using your Mac or PC, change the language / region in your web browser to EN-US and funnel through a US proxy server. Anonymous ones best, plenty to choose from.

Might have to clear cookies, and deactivate scripts.

Haven't tried with Beatsmusic.com yet, but usually that's the way to get an account outside your geo-region.

Zzzzwiped from a Zedevice....

Shouldn't the article say "...with the ability to load APK files directly (with OS 10.2.1)..."

After all, none of the earlier version will load APKs, and many people aren't running leaks.

Martin Malek was a complete failure. Windows Phone was able to get apps before BlackBerry even when BlackBerry's user base was greater. Just ridiculous. What's even more ridiculous is that Windows Phone has barely any users in the US, where this service is available.

Weird it works for some in Canada but not others. I got it on my Z30, iPhone 5 and HTC One. Works on them all.

I do on my computers but when the app works over LTE and I've made no changes to how my devices connect that's a bit of a moot point. Even went to the store earlier and streamed it the whole way. *shrug* It's NOT supposed to work in Canada anyway, so even if it does stop working... can't really complain. :P

Interested in Beats? Absolutely not. I care too much about audio quality to have any interest in Beats.

Sad that this is the normal expectancy for a completely new os only about a year old. Even Windows phones are getting support. How much longer can this company keep its head above water?

Beats Music won't support BB10?!?! OMG!! You mean there aren't several other good music streaming options already?? When will those idiots running BlackBerry learn and just shut it down???.......GAWD! Seriously??? Same old app whining....nevermind the fact that one can still get the damn service on BB10 if one is so inclined...

Beats is absolute garbage. i'm sound engineer and nobody uses beats at the professional level because they sound like s**t. Monster (who makes beats) doesn't believe in true high end and the noise canceling is just bass boost.

What does that have to do with their streaming music service? Did Jimmy Iovine steal your puppy or something? lol. I promise, you don't have to use Beats headphones to listen to the music haha!

@Bla1ze are you guys aware that there's an ad on your site taking up about a quarter of the page at the bottom. With no apparent way to minimize it...

Beats? Like Beats by Dr. Dre? No thanks. I don't want to give Dr. Dre my money for putting his name on crap. Beats headphones? Better stuff out there for a lot less dough. Beats streaming music? I'm not even going to bother.

I really want this app. Wish they made it for BlackBerry 10 with no side load or anything. We need to send Beats a partition.

I just loaded the apk running the official 10.2.1.537 os and all it does is stall on the loading screen says "beats music"!

No BB support again, and again, and again. Regardless if the app is useful or not, this is why consumers in the US do not choose BB phones. Not sure if this will ever turn around.

Probably the biggest sham in audio (next to BOSE of course). The irony watching apple detractors jump all over this must be amusing to those in the know. Monster Cables anyone?

Beats sucks. $200 for a $20 pair of headphones that sound like crap compared to bose. The service? Who needs another streaming app.

THANKYOU Bla1ze

after trying it on my friend iphone i was dying to have it on my BB z30 but now i only thing i have to do to have it is wait for the launch of 10.2.1

This service seems seems fairly easy to replicate, it's appears to be a simple music streaming service based on favorite genres or artists. Kinda makes me miss BBM Music. With the new prosumer angle I doubt this will ever reemerge as anything. Even with BBM going cross platform.

BlackBerry is dead but you're not only taking the time to read a article on a BlackBerry related site, you are taking to time to leave a comment on it. I just don't get it. If iphone is so superior, don't they have superior sites you can visit?
