Bring the Z30 to AT&T!
By Kevin Michaluk on 22 Jan 2014 01:43 pm EST

I love it when the BlackBerry community takes action, and that's exactly what's happening this week. Nick Cooper (@Nickc1307 on the twitters) wants to buy a BlackBerry Z30 from his carrier, AT&T.

Of course, AT&T is not currently selling the BlackBerry Z30. To date, the 5" touchscreen BlackBerry 10 phone has been a Verizon exclusive and there has been no real indication that is going to change anytime soon.

So while it may not help, it certainly won't hurt to let them know you'd love to see the Z30 come to AT&T too. Be sure to jump over to petitions24 at the link below and sign the petition. Let's do this!

Like another poster already said, Rogers wasn't go to sell the Z30, and people went their Facebook and complained and Rogers listened and got the Z30 for people

Definitely Kevin. I'm on verizon and didn't mind the online only ordering. BUT having online only is definitely affecting their sales. And verizon exclusive is another issue in a box lol

Posted via CB10

This is exactly the reason why it makes sense for Blackberry to sell direct to it's customers.
They can sell direct and support direct. The support is not even an issue because every time I have ever had a real problem with my Blackberry and contacted the carrier they always end up connecting me to Blackberry to fix the problem. I use to support the Blackberry deployment at my old company so I have experienced this both on a personal level and working for a company.

It's still possible (and very easy) to get a Z30 on AT&T. Verizon's Z30 is unlocked and works on AT&T's HSPA+ '4G' network. It's $550 outright, which is on the low end for BlackBerry. Negri Electronics also sells the OEM unlocked model for $600, again fully compatible with AT&T. Paypal offers a 6 and 12 month interest free finance deal at Negri, so it's basically the same as AT&T's 'Next' deal. Just FYI to everyone...

Thanks for the information. I'm considering buying it out right, but I want it to work on the network as well as my Z10STL100-3. I'm not sure that the Z30 has 4GLTE on AT&T.

Posted via CB10

There is only one maybe two LTE bands that work on the AT&T network. Otherwise they get standard 4G with that phone as you noted.

Those wanting traditional LTE coverage with a Z30 on AT&T will want to wait for the STA100-1 as it shares the same LTE bands as AT&T's STL100-3 (Z10).

Posted via CB10 on a Z10STL100-3/

Dude, U are awesome for sharing your info! I found the $550 Z30 for T-Mobile on Negri Electronics' site!! Time to jump from the Q10 to the Flagship Z30!!

Posted with my BlackBerry Q10 via CB10.

That's awesome! I have a Z30 that I use on AT&T (HSPA+), but the Q10 is my daily driver.

Posted via CB10 via Q10

I personally do not want to lose my 4G LTE coverage. If I am going to purchase a phone for full price I want it to have full compatibility with my network. AT&T's 4G LTE's coverage is too fast for me to give that up and I'm not switching to over priced Verizon for a phone. AT&T is not cheap but definitely cheaper than Verizon and has better coverage in my opinion

Strange that consumer impact is needed to persuade Carrier into offering the best BB? A few years ago it wouldn't be possible... BTW, here in the UK was very hard to find Z30 and it is still not easy to do it. Orders online only. It seems the sales is very poor. What's going on, BlackBerry?!

Nothing is going on with blackberry, no marketing, nothing and that's the problem.

I went to T-Mobile to try to switch but they said they no longer sell the Q10. :-(
I guess I'll have to stick with AT&T now.

Remember sales persond is going to sell you something that he knows about or get a commission.

I agree.
TM has abandoned BB in retail stores.

BB should spend some $$ on TM and ATT in-store promotions to stimulate retail sales.

Yes!! Speak up and take action! Where is the petition to bring the Z30 to T-Mob!? I work there and I'm trying to get in contact with our BlackBerry rep because I've personally sold our entire stock, had other stores ship their's, sold those, and I want a Z30. I deserve one. If anyone is wanting to get a Z30 and don't know if it's compatible with your carrier check out www.gsmnation.com

Sign the petition still. And somebody create a petition for T-Mobile to get the Z30!

Posted by BBM#42 via Z10 ( Do not fear the leaks

Sure, and as long as we can get more signatures than they have iPhone users, then they should listen to us. Otherwise we might as well forget it ATT could care less about its BlackBerry users...

I am waiting for the Q30, need the keyboard. :-P

Posted without the aid of AutoCorrect with my physical keyboard via CB10

With AT&T withholding the OS updates, why would anyone want a BlackBerry on that network?

(and stfu about installing a leak!)

Time to sell and update direct!

Will do. Can't hurt to sign it. I wonder why the other carriers wont offer the Z30? I thought Sprint passed up on the Z10 to sell the Z30 when it became available. How can BB10 US market share increase if limited to what we can get from the carriers? Everyone can't buy a BB10 device unlocked.

Yah, I agree. I'll sign the petition when I get home even though I personally don't have any interest in an all-touch device. But the more signatures the better. What I don't understand is why the petition claims AT&T skipped the 9900? They didn't they had the 9900, I am on AT&T and got the 9900 from them... They were the last to release it, but it did come out eventually...

We're such a rare breed aren't we?? I just called up my local Sprint store just for the heck of it, OF COURSE they had no plans of carrying Z's any time soon. For the time being, I'm happy with my Q10.

Posted via CB10

Well, you saved me the trouble. I was thinking of that but the last Sprint store in my area closed. :-(
However, we have blazing unlimited LTE here now. Go figure.

Signed. It's either that or BlackBerry needs a more independent direct sales model like Dell used to (still?) run. Advertise and drive traffic to your website. Anybody in the world can buy and try, return if not happy within 30 days. Let us buy direct!

Retweeted and posted 5 times in all on my end. Two went to both BlackBerry and AT&T.

I used my Z10 to create this CrackBerry madness!

I'd like to know more about the Verizon Exclusive...Is it the phone itself? Wireless charging? Length of exclusivity?? Tell us!!!

Posted via CB10

Verizon is the exclusive US carrier to agree to carry the Z30 (online only). Any other carrier can decide to carry it as well & then Verizon won't be the exclusive US carrier anymore.

Anyone can start a petition I've had this one up for a day and a half now. Just tweet the right people before kevin posted this I was only able to obtain 88 signatures by myself just using Twitter. :)

Not really interested in the z30 at the moment but I wish I could go to an at&t store and try it out. Consider this signed.

I'm here in the USA and there is ZERO marketing anywhere for BlackBerry. I went to best buy yesterday and they said they no longer carry the Z10 or any accessories. Come on Chen get the marketing ball going we are well into January and still nothing!

Btdubs, can I ask you folks on here with the Grandfathered Unlimited data plan on AT&T:

Does your BBM Video and Voice work over LTE? Mine is still blocked, despite the promise they had made.

Posted via CB10

I'm on AT&T with grandfathered Unlimited Data WITHOUT BBM Voice and Video still! I even called them a couple months ago, it was elevated and I was supposed to get a call back at a certain date/time, but they never ever contacted me at all! Great customer service for a very long time and loyal customer.

Bring us the Z30...

Unlocked Z10 on AT&T,

I've had my account for 5 years! I'm really pissed off!

They called me back almost a month since my case was elevated. Rude piece of shot call centre employee was passive aggressive to me and basically was like "You must switch to a mobile share plan in order for it to work. Do you have any more questions?"

I wanted to smack the shit out of his face.

Instead, I filed reports against AT&T to the FCC and the FTC.

I have a Z30 and love it. However I believe that consumer interest in BlackBerry in the USA is not great because of all that has happened. I hope im wrong!

Z30, Q10, Z10, iP5, SGS3

It's sad that it's come to this point, but I'll tell you this, it's worth figuring out how to get one. Z30 is a great great great phone. And this is coming from a guy who sells phones for a living. Nothing compares.

Posted via CB10

Signed and can't wait to get Z30. Love my Z10, but would like a bigger screen and longer battery life of the Z30.

Posted via CB10

Signed! But if nobody knows about BlackBerry, well nobody can buy it. The AT&T stores here in Texas don't want to sell BlackBerry. If you ask them about BlackBerry phones or accessories they look at you like your crazy.

Posted Via Z10 Smarterphone

Same experience in Charlotte NC at Verizon. Upgrade time for a new BlackBerry they said why are you forced to buy one for work. I put up a fight and over an hour later I walked out with my awesome z10. Having educated the salesman on all the great things it can do. Still Mr Chen you have to do something about US carriers salesperson's not even giving blackberry's a chance.

Vtecberry Z10

Let's do it for SPRINT as well. For all us long suffering sprint users that have been waiting 4-ever for a bb10 touchscreen phone. I want a z30 so bad I would walk from my house in NY to john chen's house and back just to get one.

Done! They are dumb for dumping BlackBerry like that. Shameful... live in Canada but have a U.S account with att but I will switch if I can't get the Z30.

Posted using the best phone ever, the white Z10!

Hope this works to get z30 units into the hands of AT&T customers.

Agree they should sell and market the phones themselfs. They have nearly zero marketing at least here in Germany most people think blackberry ist a dead company and long gone or sold.

Ericsson GF198(GSM900) im D2 Privat Netz

I'm BlackBerry all the way. The Z10 launch was horrible and the OS was a bit flawed with the reboots. It wasn't ready for prime time. Lots of people returned their devices. The rumors continued. I stayed with my unit hoping and praying it wasn't hardware. I've been upgrading ever since I bought my unit and my z10 is awesome. People wanted tried and tested devices I'm the others. I felt like we were set up by Thor and waited for great things to come from my PlayBook. I'm here to stay.

Posted via CB10

I think the solution is to have blackberry sell them online and eventually get some of there own stores like apples has so that there are knowledgeable people who work for a blackberry store whom can demonstrated there products properly.

Posted from a Blackberry Z10 version10.2.1.176 on Verizon 4G network

I did get to talk to a BlackBerry rep at my AT&T flagship store near me, and he did tell me AT&T is in line to get the Z30, which makes sense since we did see the AT&T variant enter into the FCC. However, he did not know when it would be offered by AT&T on their network. I'm guessing February or March myself.

Still furious at the fact AT&T claims they support BlackBerry, but they don't offer the flagship device.

I was originally going to switch to Verizon to get the Z30, but after having a hard time getting one from Verizon (in store, over the phone, and online), and an even worse customer service experience than at AT&T (which ended with a Verizon rep trying to sell me an iPhone 5S and a Samsung Galaxy S4, and when I turned those down they actually had the nerve to try and sell me a Z10, which I already have from AT&T, plus an iPhone 4S from AT&T that I already despise), I decided it wasn't worth the switch. I have even told AT&T I'd gladly pay the price of the Porsche Design BlackBerry P'9982 for a Z30, and I'd be buying 2 of them. That's how bad I want them. Don't care how much they cost, I want them NOW!!! Naturally though, I get the same "What's a Z30?" and "no information at this time" response. So, I'm praying that the rep from BlackBerry I talked to was right, and that this petition can make some impact on getting the Z30 to AT&T as well.

Posted via AT&T BlackBerry Z10 Smartphone

That has to be the clunkiest petition site I've ever seen. I have no idea if my signature went through.

For all the T-Mobile users they have a compatible Z30 already available. I would go that route if I was with them. I don't even care if AT&T offers it as long as I'm able to purchase one that's compatible with AT&T's 4G LTE bands.

Posted From My AT&T BlackBerry Z10

The stupid 4G LTE bands thing is the only reason I haven't purchased one yet. Maybe it's worth it to just go for the HSPA+ compatible one and call it a day. Kevin, you should shoot a little suggestion from the CB community to Chen saying we all want them to sell us ALL of their devices direct and unlocked. These carriers in the US don't give a damn at all.

Posted via CB10

I agree I wish they would finally offer a Z30 that way. I'm still under contract for another year so I would have to pay full price for one through AT&T. I rather own a unlocked Z30 anyway so that I could get the OS updates when Rogers gets them

Posted From My AT&T BlackBerry Z10

I think it's a crying shame that we have to reduce ourselves to "actually" asking a carrier to carry the current,...and most absolute best BlackBerry device. I can't recall this ever happening to any other device,....or device mfr. I hope it works!

BlackBerry’s being sold now by AT&T the Z10 & Q10 have near perfect rating on At&T website.

I don't understand the logic of not having Z30 for AT&T customers. It should do just as well in user experience Z10, Q10 BlackBerrys.

AT&T I'm sure will get it right when newer BlackBerry machines come out.

Recently I heard Google Android phones have hole in security making them prone to hacking.

Today Microsoft was hacked by The Syrian Electronic Army. This is what the Hackers said

After the attack the SEA addressed a tweet to Microsoft which said: "Changing the [content management system] will not help if your employees are hacked and they don't know about it.
We didn't finish our attack on @Microsoft yet, stay tuned for more."

security analyst Graham Cluley: "What the SEA does is not very sophisticated. But it works and people need to be much more vigilant,"

World have changed alot!

This article should help to clear up the "exclusivity" that Verizon reportedly has. Here's a good quote (or two) from the article :

"It's with that uncertainty that the Z30 makes its debut. It appears as if Verizon's "exclusive" arrangement is less about having locked up a deal with BlackBerry, and more about the lack of interest from rival carriers. "

"Bhardwaj declined to comment about getting the Z30 on other carriers, but noted that BlackBerry was ready to ship phones to other carriers if they requested it. He said there was nothing in the deal with Verizon that would prevent BlackBerry from offering an AT&T or T-Mobile version of the phone."

Keith H. Posted via CB10 on Z10.

Can not understand why care any carrier? In germany you can buy phones unlocked and put any sim card in. I always done couldn't care less about any carrier. Why buy a sim locked phone?

Ericsson GF198(GSM900) im D2 Privat Netz

Not really sure about mobile bands in Germany. But here in the U.S. Bands have a lot to do with what phone you buy. Currently the ones available are hit and miss on LTE. Why have a phone that can not function properly or with limitations.

http://www.petitions24.com/attz30 spread the word!!!

being an at&t costumer myself, I feel like they don't do that great of a job pushing the sale of bb's. they always talk about the iPhone.

The Z30 is getting amazing user reviews all across the world. And I am sure Mr. Chen has noticed the mass popularity of this phone. Awesome, and AT&T needs to start pumping the Z30's out the door and into peoples hands. Once they try it, there's no putting it down. FACT.

Signed the petition. Btw the Verizon exclusive on Z30 isn't a contractual exclusive from what I've been told. They just market it that way because no other carrier decided to sell the device.

Posted via CB10

I would like to see the Z30 on AT&T, been waiting patiently to decide on dropping either Verizon or AT&T And not helping that I am loving both phones. Even though AT&T rates are more reasonable I still may jump ship since I can buyout my contract at anytime now.

Posted Via CB10 Using my great Z30 Or Z10

Just sell the darn thing unlocked straight from BlackBerry site like Google sells the Nexus 5 and price it right. I'll buy one.

Posted via CB10

Please bring the z50 to T-Mobile when its ready. In regards to AT&T in the popular phrase coined by Rambo......."F$&k'em".LOL

"I love it when the BlackBerry community takes action"... but I love it more if BlackBerry themselves makes the initial effort...

Posted via CB10

Blackberry should make one phone unlocked that can be used by any carrier and sell direct.
I said this last March 2013.

Where is the petition for letting them know that we want services in general? Where is push to talk, I did capability, accessories and more?? If you are going to petition, go for the gusto and stop half stepping.

Posted via CB10

Honestly, I have no problem finding accessories from better vendors. My service is excellent. But, that depends on location with every carrier. As far as push to talk.. do smart phones even use that function at all these days? That's a pretty weird request and was pretty fail when it was around. Which is why Nextel sold off to Sprint. And it quickly faded out of sprints stores as far as I can remember..

Like I said before. As far as I know T-mobile is compatible 100% with a device you can purchase unlocked. Which is pretty much what you have to do with T-mobile anyway. T-mobile is pushing BlackBerry to the back burner only selling the devices online per request and not pushing sale on ANY BlackBerry device. Where the other 3 still are. It's been known sprint will not carry the device. But nothing has been said about AT&T. So we have no clue of they plan to carry it or not. Which is why I made this petition AT&T only. Of you guys want to make one for T-mobile be my guest. But, I would also petition that they keep BlackBerry devices in the store as well. So people have a chance to play with one and decide if they want it.

http://www.petitions24.com/attz30 spread the word!!!

Try 'PRIP" app, this was created by Nextel and Sprint is pushing this through their android and IOS devices... $8 usd a month and works great...

Just signed! I am on Virgin Canada even though they don't carry the Z30, at least I have the option to buy one unlocked, when I get an extra $600 to spend that is. I have a Q10 which Virgin doesn't even advertise on their website anymore out of the 3 BB phones they do carry. Pretty sad having to resort to petitions and Facebook complaints just to get carriers to have the latest BlackBerry phones.

I would truly appreciate it if this petition would be extended to T-Mobile as well!!!

AT&T has to stock and sell this awesome BlackBerry device: it would be out of character if they didn't!

Posted via CB10

I can't support a company that is biased against Blackberry. I would rather have my Z10, or a new Z30 than a contract with AT&T. Offer Blackberry smartphones, and a realistic plan, and I would reconsider.

Posted via CB10

If AT&T does not sell it I will change carriers I have been with them since 1998 but I want this device available now. I hate the fact AT&T pushes IPhone only then Galaxy and Blackberry last. They refuse customers decent support from RIM if you have an issue with your BB so it maybe time to call it a day and bid them good ridden.
