VZW Storm Challenge this Thursday in Time Square

NYC Storm Contest

BGR dropped word of this over the weekend, but in my CrackBerry Storm Contest daze it fell of my radar before I got to posting it...

If you're in NYC this Thursday be sure to make your way over to Time Square for your chance to win a BlackBerry Storm in game-show style. All you need to do is climb inside Verizon's ginormous BlackBerry Storm wind chamber and grab for lucky winning tickets blowing around in the err... storm. Here's the deets:

  • WHEN: Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008 between 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
  • WHERE: Manhattan - Father Duffy Square. Located in the northern triangle of Times Square on Broadway between 46th Street and 47th Street
  • WHAT: Participants will be eligible to win a BlackBerry Storm (with a $50 Verizon Wireless gift card for activation) and Bluetooth headsets

Good luck to all those who head down and check it out! Be sure to report back with photos and your observations (and hopefully word that you won a Storm). These Storm grabs are making their way everywhere it seems, so be sure to keep your eyes open for one in your city!

The Storm Challenge was in downtown Chicago this Friday, 11/7. They took everyone's name and contact info before getting in line. At 3:00 pm, the line took 1:45 to get through - it was about 50 people. They gave out 100 in the Chicago location - I won #97(!) at approx 4:45. They said to expect it in the mail after the release date (approx 4-8 weeks was their estimate without knowing the release date). If you're going to play, shuffle your feet to kick up the slips, and pick the black ones off the ceiling and walls. Good Luck!

Hey, I am thinking about heading down on Thursday, how early do you think I should be there and how hard was it to win? if I am slightly coordinated, is there a good chance =)

second... Is this worth getting down to a bit early to try and win one? Or are chances pretty remote? It's a pain for me to get down there, especially at 10am... But I'll do it if it will get me the Storm!
