BlackBerry Pearl 9100 3G

Virgin Mobile Canada is offering up a smokin' deal on the BlackBerry Pearl 3G 9100 right now. You can pick one up for just $99 off contract, which is awesome if you're in need of a new device, or maybe looking for an inexpensive yet feature packed back-to-school present. And since Virgin Mobile offers some great pre-paid options that include BlackBerry data, you don't have to worry about expensive data overages -- or jut unlock it and use it on any other GSM compatible carrier. You can check out the full details on the Virgin Mobile website.

On a related note, who does have the best pre-paid rates in the GTA or is Virgin the best deal ? This is for my 14 year old....

The Pearl is dying a slow death. Thanks for the memories.

RIM offer a Bold 9700 or Curve 9300 as a prepaid handset, I know some people who want slightly newer Berry phones, but do not want a contract. The prepaid 8500 series needs a refresh. I do think the Style is cool, but the traditional form factor is the best.

That has NOTHING to do with RIM...

TorchedNokia

I have a torch, I'm thinking of getting this as a back up phone. I am weary of the substyle keyboard and programs that I know from my torch NOT working properly on the Pearl.

I want to fire-off something like this and not feel like I'm suffering or say to myself, oh, my torch can do this, but the pearl can't.

Should I grab this or save for later and greater?

If you find one at $99, buy it. It would make a great spare phone.

Since Virgin is on the HSPA network, does anyone know if their blackberries would work on GSM carriers like Rogers/Fido?
