hmmm, kinda weird that Virgin Mobile Canada has official OS6 for all of their compatible devices except Pearl 3G. Interesting....

It sucks :( - I guess if we didn't had a leak, we shouldn't expect an official build of that number/series.
Hopefully we'll see a new build for the Pearl 3G when the next leaks appear.

I just left Virgin because I couldn't bridge my BB Playbook with my Curve 8330. Virgin blocked any attempt to update my operating system from 4.5 to 5 which is required to link the 2 devices. Odd that they did not mention this option. I repeated it to the customer service guy twice to make sure that I understood and he said that I could not link my Playbook with my Curve. I moved to Telus got a new Bold and surprise, it's cheaper than Virgin.

For starters. Virgin "Blocked" the install? No, there was no official way to update. It wan't blocked, it wasn't there.
And there was nothing stopping you from unofficially updating, except for your lack of knowledge which it sounds like.
You better not mean cheaper phone plan, because Telus = Virgin = Bell = Rogers = Koodo in pricing. All their plans match and you would have probably gotten Call Display and Voicemail for free if you stayed with Virgin for more than 2+ years.
And I really hope you don't mean price of the phone, as Virgin's 9780 is $4.99 and Telus is $49.99.

I just updated my cousin's 8330 to Boost Mobile's 5.0.0.438. Download it from the sticky thread in the 83xx forum.
